Chick-fil-A's customer loyalty only gets stronger with stunts like this, as does the loyalty of Donald Trump's voters....

Chick-fil-A's customer loyalty only gets stronger with stunts like this, as does the loyalty of Donald Trump's voters.... I'm sure that's true. I'm a straight guy who actually doesn't like Chick-fil-A's sandwiches. But every time I read something about an attempt to bring them down, I and the wife head for Chick-fil-A for a meal, just like we did tonight, after reading your post about San Mateo County's attempt to stop them.

And, yet, Fordama STILL insists the suicide and other violence amongst LGBTQ remains so high because they are so discriminated against. I understand he has nothing else with which to respond, but at some point he will have to see ... no, “understand” ... how ridiculous he sounds. The LGBTQ suicide rate is indeed tragic, but rather than discrimination being the major factor I think there are better explanations: 1. Massive cognitive dissonance from feeling and acting in a way that contradicts biology, nature, and the common morality of all of human history. 2. Habitual sin can never in principle bring about peace or happiness, but rather only increases misery. The LGBTQ ideology inevitably moves toward the rejection of God, a pretty lonely place to be in the confines of one's conscience. This goes for all sin, by the way, straight or gay, sexual or non-sexual. Anybody experiencing these feelings needs above all our love and true compassion, and thus deserve to hear the truth--not well-meaning lies. Only in Christ will they (and we) find the peace that surpasses all understanding. I will never tell Fordama this, but your comment is playing out in my step-daughters life. She decided pursuing a relationship with a man is too difficult and having watched her father and grandfather humiliate their families (one by infidelity and the other by infidelity and molesting young girls, she decided she was better suited to “date” her roommate, a co-dependent, agoraphobic insecure little thing she went too college with. Because her lifestyle choices and her behavior in General are out of sync with her values, she suffered from depression and anxiety disorder she can’t control.

I will pray for her. Look, I spent some time in my younger and foolish years not exactly living a chaste lifestyle; that was very empty not a time I'd prefer to return to.

This is a hostile takeover of not only the state of California's sovereignty but the nation.

This has surely been a temptation for people of varying ideologies throughout history, but for the past century has overwhelmingly been a problem for the Left. The hatred and contempt for Trump supporters that we've seen for the past three years is proof enough.

I'm convinced that the more people in America that followed this Thomas Sowell account on Twitter, the more we would be on the road to restoring common sense to the country.

Herschel was one of my favorite college football players as a kid. He played for the USFL New Jersey Generals when Trump was the owner and has remained a friend and now political supporter as well.

This is what the Left thinks about half of their fellow citizens.

Any doubt we're headed for a split? Only question is how messy this divorce is going to be.
Khruschev was right.

With corporate America's embrace of cultural liberalism in the Obama years, the Left has gone from being the party of Occupy Wall Street to the party of Wall Street. And the defender of FBI and CIA surveillance on American citizens---simply stunning. The Left is now The Man.

I didn't know where else to put this, so it ended up here
Liberals, including their acolytes on TOB, habitually cite countries like Denmark and Norway as their examples of the kind of idyllic lives socialist countries can provide for their citizens. But I listened to a political economics professor on the radio earlier this week who debunks that notion. As best I can paraphrase what he said, it was "Denmark and Norway are not socialist countries, as they have fully capitalist economic systems. What they've done is impose a crushing tax burden on their citizens in order to finance a cradle-to-grave welfare state that devalues individual drive, initiative and perseverance. In all of history, there has never been a socialist state that did not fail the majority of its citizenry."
I don't know that he could have hit the nail on the head any more squarely.

I’ve heard that repeated several times over the years. Insofar as the liberal mindset goes, I have difficulty figuring out if they don’t know that (too) or are simply ignoring it. Lamentably, I do suspect the latter.

I'm not sure which it is either. Judging from frequent comments on TOB, they seem to believe that socialism is merely a pooling of money to pay for general social services. They often cite the military, police and fire departments, and public education as their examples of socialism, but they never take the next step and discuss socialism's implications for ownership of businesses and distribution. I think what they really want and are unwilling to articulate is a tax-based, widespread nanny welfare state, but not socialism as it's commonly defined.
I would love to hear someone actually pin down Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren and force them to define what they really mean by the term.
