Which one of those 2023 QB prospects ends up at Mater Dei or Bosco next January?

They were probably saying the same thing at Cathedral three years ago about Bryce Young.

Shocking yet not......, the districts are allowed to decide, so it looks like NMUSD is siding on precaution and safety. That said in the article it states that could change should CIF give them something more concrete to go on...., but it appears as of now no summer sports.

If the NMUSD is waiting for the CIF to provide some intelligent guidance on how to respond to the coronavirus, they may be the dumbest school district in the state.

CIF made it clear they were leaving it up to the school districts, and would then respond once the dust has settled. My guess is if enough districts are going to be "cautious", the season will be postponed.

Although I am "FOR" playing the season, CIF is supposedly putting out plans and guidelines in the near future. Appears NMUSD chose or is being led to say without something on the table the answer will be "AGAINST". As for being "DUMB", one would be hard pressed when looking at the educational rankings of the schools in the NMUSD. Hope to shed some insight on this as I know a few parents whom are well connected to the district and have already told me they are in communication. At this point I can say the parents are not in favor of the decision and making themselves heard. I will reiterate that all of this SUCKS. Today was CDM FOOTBALL's RING CEREMONY. It was a couple months ago postponed. It was then changed to a parade where students/players would pick up their rings and proceed in a parade accompanied by NBPD & NBF. The players would stay in their respected vehicles with family. In light of the last weeks goings on it was decided the optics were not optimum at this time. I guess any gatherings are taboo unless you are out rioting. Don't get together for graduation or church or unnecessary celebrations.

Looks like you'll have to ask permission to celebrate your white privilege perfect season.

Thank Bick for the sentiment, I think we all know on most any level in HS sport what an accomplishment winning CIF Section and State is, going undefeated to boot. What really seems to hurt is that the community is not able to share in this, I know the kids are super satisfied with their accomplishments, championships etc..., but this really takes away that final moment, the exuberance, that you share outside the locke room. Its the victory parade, the final exclamation point, the end of the story. Glad you it was you that brought up the "white privilege" comment as I wasn't about to go there first. I have no knowledge but a hunch, my own, was the optics of an all white football team parading around during a BLM moment in history simply bad optics, putting the school, program and kids in the sight of the media...? Do you not think any writer/journalist would not mention CDM (a predominantly white football program).... yada yada indemnity politics jab...... The above is as I say my "HUNCH", just hard to not feel nor see it.....

I just hope you guys can have a real ceremony - not a zoom - or drive-by - or socially f'n distanced - before your guys have to report to their colleges.
I'm guessing you could have it next week without much trouble or judgement.

I think the ship has sailed...... today the players will pick up their rings in a drive up and head home...., more unessary systemic damage.., looking at todays events one has to wonder if sending all our youth home for two months, taking them away from schools, friends, social interaction is at the root of this most recent crisis.

Yes, Don Lent had a cup of coffee at Newport Harbor, but he will always be the ultimate Magnolia Sentinel. He also spent most of the last 25 or 30 years of his life traveling the world as a Christian missionary.
