No, not whatever, you are acting like an ass. ...your Nazi genetics are showing. That's way out of line. I may act like an ass sometimes, but when you say something like that, you are one. Look, if you had opted to make a case for Joe Montana or Peyton Manning rather than Tom Brady as the greatest ever, the result would have been an interesting discussion. But when you discount Brady for winning all his Super Bowls for one coach, you lose credibility. When you set up arbitrary disqualifiers like Brady winning his Super Bowls at the beginning and end of his career, but not in the middle (which may be the single silliest metric I've ever heard), you lose credibility. When you bring up Terry Bradshaw as a potential GOAT, you lose credibility. And when you name a half dozen flopdicks that you believe could have had the same success as Brady if they had played for Belichick and the Patriots, you lose credibility. GOATS aren't chosen on hypotheticals, they're chosen on accomplishments, and Brady's body of work can easily be perceived as the best ever. Much as I dislike the guy. Good, we found the raw nerve. You claimed I had no imagination in my insults, I just wanted to prove to you just how wrong you are. You are correct that Brady's body of work can be perceived as the best ever. So can Montana's. So can Bradshaws. They have all accomplished things in their career that other QB's haven't. They have also failed at things. The result is that the final choice is indeed arbitrary & hypothetical, because we are comparing individuals from different eras in a team sport. The resulting choice has to be hypothetical because it can never be proven. All of the metrics each of us set up are arbitrary. You threw out the number of career TD passes, when that is a metric that has been inflated over the past 20 years, so it favors more recent QB's. Why would that be a credible metric than the ones I was using? I may have lost credibility in YOUR eyes, but who the fuck are you to determine credibility? When I threw out that Nazi reference, it was spot on because you are acting in a superior manner, as if what you believe is Gods word and everyone elses opinions are just trash.

Wow RSM throwing out the NAZI card. Weak. And yes, GOAT is a hypothetical non official designation if you want to say or call that, however in the end and amongst it all there is a final or majority consensus. In boxing its Ali, in basketball Jordan and in Football at the QB position it's Brady. Pound all the sand you like RSM, at best you are runner up in your GOATING! I know you don't believe that because you & I laugh at the liberals when they talk of a final consensus with global warming. The people you listed as GOATS are the favorite, the chalk pick if you will. No doubt they deserve to be in the discussion. But this isn't a popularity contest, so they aren't crowned winner at the end of the day. No one is.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. But 15 pages worth of arguing about it? That's ridiculous.
Whenever I'd click on the thread I couldn't get myself to read it. I'd just scan it, and see that it was more of the same silly argument about the same old topic between the same two posters. Then I'd move on.
The Nazi reference caught my eye though, RSM, and I question the decision to call someone whose family lived through that nightmare, a Nazi.

The Nazi reference caught my eye though, RSM, and I question the decision to call someone whose family lived through that nightmare, a Nazi. There is a difference between calling someone a Nazi (which I didn't) and referencing ones genetics that included Germans or Austrians. I am of German & Bohemian descent, so since Bohemia no longer exists thanks to Germany, I do have that genetic connection as well. MDDad & I both have genetics that are shared somewhere up the chain with folks who later became Nazi's. I never took MDDad as a snowflake, that such a reference to genetics that we both share would be considered so offensive. It is along the lines of one black guy talking to another black guy and calling him "nigga". I have used the reference many times, even with family members and it has never been taken as offensive. Not an excuse, just an explanation why I believe that comment is not horrible and should never be apologized for.

From what I saw of Brady on Monday, he still reads quickly and can react and throw a very strong, accurate short pass. But he doesn't look like he can throw the long ball anymore. He's still one of the 10 or 12 best QB's in the league............................Luca

Now that the dust has somewhat settled...
Brady leads TB to their first playoff spot in 13 years
AND
New England has a losing season for the first time in 20 years.
Game...set...match

I agree.
But I would also like to add this. The discussion regarding who is the GOAT can arguably have three or four deserving candidates, but any discussion for who is the goat stops at Jared Goff. He is the worst NFL quarterback in the history of mankind. Watching him the last several weeks has been like shoving barbed wire up my ass. There have been many games in his career that he didn't lose for his team, but when they need him to make a play, he will never, ever, ever make one. What a freakin' donkey.
And to think he's the fourth highest paid player in the NFL. What were the Rams thinking when they signed him to a four-year, $134 million extension. That means he gets paid over $640,000 a week for being incompetent, unathletic, oblivious, perpetually mentally confused and utterly terrible.

Goff made hay when teams had to load the box for Gurley, Cooks was stretching the field, and all the other guys were singled up underneath and just ran for days.
Goff was exposed after Gurley lost the S on his chest.

I think Robert Woods is a satisfactory replacement for Cook and Higby is an excellent tight end. What has really hurt Goff is the loss of the center and the left guard they had in the Super Bowl year. They let two outstanding offensive lineman get away and now they’ve got a mediocre O-line with a quarterback who cannot handle pressure and can’t run. Did you see him slide short of the first down on third and seven?

Goff might have been a serviceable QB in the 1970's, 80's and 90's, when guys like Dan Marino and Dan Fouts proved you didn't have to be evasive as a deer to excel at the position. Unfortunately for Goff, those days are gone, and he is an unathletic guy at a position that now demands it. I swear he runs like a three-legged hippo. Add that to his constant look of confusion, lack of leadership and incredibly slow decion making and you have the perfect recipe for a goat playing in the wrong era.

There is too much Off-the-Goff commentary in the TB GOAT thread for me.... enough.

What, you can handle over 200 repetitive posts on Tom Brady as a possible GOAT, but four comments on Goff is over the top?............Luca
