Here is my very non-PC, misogynist take on AOC: People allow her to continue to spew her ignorant nonsense with minimal rebuke because she is a young, pretty woman with crazy eyes. Guys look at her & just know she would be wild in bed and that they just might have a shot at her if they nod in agreement to her ramblings about a new green deal. Women are afraid of her, her looks make her the queen of the mean girls clique and her eyes convey the message that she will run over & shiv any sister that gets in her way. If she was over 45, Pelosi ugly and had normal eyes, she would be laughed at & ignored. Like this? Looks like she's also having a hard time denouncing Maduro. Imagine that.

When I listen to clips of her speaking she reminds me of the preteenage girl in 6th grade running for class president, trying to sound really important talking about something she doesn't understand, all the while realizing she's in way the hell over her head and hopes nobody notices.........................Luca

Luca, that 6th grade girl also probably promised free hamburgers and pizza every day, no schoolwork or homework, and recess all day long, with no way of knowing how to accomplish any of those things. So she was a lot more like AOC than you think.

Absolutely zerO Clue is wrong again.
Someone named Alanna Vagianos tweeted “The idea that a woman can be as powerful as a man is something that our society can’t deal with." (she is apparently stuck in the 90’s)
To which AOC responded, “If you ever wonder why the GOP targets Pelosi more than Schumer, or Waters more than male committee chairs (despite having equal or similar positions of power) this is part of the reason why”
It apparently escapes her notice that Pelosi is in charge of the 2nd legislative body of the United States, Schumer is not introducing legislation and Maxine Waters is crazy as a loon. But this is an example of making up her own facts to,suit her agenda.

For all the deserved criticism she gets, I've got to give her some credit for actually attempting to provide a solution with her Green New Deal. As compared to so many others who offer nothing more than criticism, it's good to see some effort at a solution...completely misguided as it may be.

For all the deserved criticism she gets, I've got to give her some credit for actually attempting to provide a solution with her Green New Deal... A solution for what? There is no consensus that climate change will be a net negative effect on the world. Like with all changes, there will be some who suffer from the changes and others who benefit. Climate change is no different. Further, the financial costs of the "solutions" she is proposing are more than the anticipated financial losses from those who will be worse off as the climate changes. That is like spending $50,000 for a special bumper that protects your car one time in a crash when the car itself is only worth $25,000. The climate is going to change. People are going to adapt. Life will go on.

I've been clear that I don't agree at all with WHAT she is proposing.
I'm giving her credit THAT she is actually proposing something at all...as opposed to just bitching about it.

We will differ on this. i do not give her credit for this monstrosity. We got assignments in school or in the workplace, we don’t get bupkus for just throwing up [ sic] any old treatment. We get credit for doing the work, putting in our due diligence. this green new deal has all the earmarks of junior high school student who pulled it together with her friends at a sleepover. It isn’t “something” ... from my perspective, it is less than nothing because it has the uneducated sycophants all believing in it.

After reading about the Mueller investigations, the complaining about the wall, the whining about any and everything that offends, AOC is passionate about saving the world from ending in a dozen years.
If I had to choose, I'd rather listen to someone passionate about a hair-brained idea, than someone who just complains.
Positive v negative energy thing.

I guess if she gets credit for proposing a solution, the greater unintended credit will be that she has exposed to the nation that the "cure" to climate change is worse than the disease.

I don’t know that she’s passionate about anything, least of all, the environment. A degree in Economics did not write that paper. It shows almost no understanding of economics at all. I also don’t think she is as stupid as she is being perceived. She has picked up a mantra she has been told will carry her: She is being handled, just like Obama was... and probably is.

We Colonists have to stick together, so I agree with Dave on this one. Offering or supporting a "solution" that is as asinine and preposterous as any socio-political proposal in recent memory is not a virtue, nor does it make her worthy of admiration. But Dave, I think she is absolutely as stupid as she is being perceived. Luca has her pegged -- she is a mouth that has media catering to everything she says and does, but she has a vacuous, juvenile mind behind it, incapable of ideas deserving of serious thought.

Like anyone willing to take a tangible position, this affords the opportunity to debate the solution on its merits in an objective manner. Compare this GND to the border security discussion. There is no mainstream democratic solution being proposed that I'm aware of. All we've got is constant complaining about the perception of racism which has no real objective argument. I'll take someone willing to take a position, regardless of how preposterous it may be, any day over the complainers.

(1) Compare this GND to the border security discussion. There is no mainstream democratic solution being proposed that I'm aware of. (2) I'll take someone willing to take a position, regardless of how preposterous it may be, any day over the complainers. (1) Bick, there has been a Democratic solution for decades. It's called "Comprehensive Immigration Reform". It's a perfectly good catchphrase, and you just have to ignore the fact that no Democrat has ever defined what it means. (2) And someone willing to take a position on something as ludicrous as eliminating all cows, or retrofitting every building in America, is of no more value than if he had spent all his time complaining. Any debate on the Green New Deal is an exercise in lunacy.
