Do they play football in Delaware? I thought they only incorporate shady businesses.

Interesting and well researched article in the Times today. I also like the tweet below by WCA were they flat out say 'being recruited by Bosco and MD' LOL. What a absolute joke this is!

I've never had a problem with trying to get eighth graders to attend your school. (not sure it's legal though). Mater Dei and Servite both came to speak to our eighth grade class way back in the covered wagon days when I was in school. It's the attempted poaching of other high schools' star players that I've always objected to.

Exactly. Every Catholic school in the country is "recruiting" prospective students in the 7th and 8th grade with Open Houses, Shadow Days, visits to their grade schools, etc. Unlike the public (government-funded) schools that have a built-in constituency, private schools operate more on a business model in this respect. If they weren't recruiting these kids (athletes and non-athletes) they'd be out of students and shut down pretty quickly. As for the L.A. Times article on the WCA event, the author and Sondy almost sound disappointed that no one got sick from COVID. As far as I'm concerned those two Karens can take their pearl-clutching and finger-wagging and cry me river. My student Noah Fifita said it best: Participating players said they were aware of the perils presented by the novel coronavirus but were told by organizers that “that’s the risk we’re willing to take” for the chance at a scholarship, according to Noah Fifita, a quarterback from Servite High.
“It’s kind of just like football,” Fifita said. “You might get hurt. It’s a risk you have to take to be out there.”That's called freedom. The power-grabbing bureaucrats might want to remember that.
