Agree w/ Credo on this one. He wasn't coming off as an expert here - he said as much multiple times. Yeah, and Dr. Birx said in an interview, that he has a habit of musing out loud in meetings to get people thinking. This is what he was doing with the Ultra-violet light and the disinfectants...musing about a "what if" we could somehow use this info to attack it inside the body in some way. Anyone who heard Trump's press conference and came away with the idea that he was suggesting people inject themselves with disinfectant is either stupid--or pretending to be stupid (that is, a D.C. reporter), especially when, after one such reporter asked in response to Trump's comment, "There’s no scenario where that could be injected into a person, is there?” Trump immediately clarified his remark by saying, “It wouldn’t be through injections, you’re talking about almost a cleaning and sterilization of an area. Maybe it works, maybe it doesn’t work, but it certainly has a big affect if it’s on a stationary object.”
Call me crazy, but “It wouldn’t be through injections" doesn't mean..... inject yourself.
Not that hard to figure out. Charlottesville 2.0

Ignorant about medicine in this case. Having specific knowledge of medicine and being able to lead the country are two different skill sets, Trump has the 2nd one, the doctors who advise him have the 1st one. Seriously? You think it takes a doctor to know you don't want to inject yourself with disinfectant? When did I ever write that it takes a doctor to know that? You jump on people all the time about knowing what "you believe", yet you go and do the same thing you complain about. It also doesn't take a doctor to watch the press conference and see that he was not suggesting to do that. If you believe that he was suggesting that action, then you are dumber than the aforementioned fifth grader.

As far as the UV light treatment goes, the President was alluding to this: I'm not an expert, but I think this it what's called.......science.

As usual the Babylon Bee satire sight nails the press coverage of Disinfectant-gate:
WASHINGTON, D.C.—At his press conference last night, President Trump told everyone to stay hydrated and drink lots of water.
"Water's tremendous, very powerful stuff," he said. "You won't believe the things they can do with water. Water balloons. Water slides. Water beds. It's amazing. You can freeze it and make ice, I'm told. Ice is great for lots of things. Ice cream. Ice cubes. Igloos."
"Anyway, drink water."
Horrified journalists scrambled to warn Americans not to drown themselves in their pools and bathtubs.
"Trump says water is good -- but this is very misleading," said Rachel Maddow. "Did you know that water kills many people every year? These dangerous, unhinged remarks from the president could cause many to drown themselves. Plus, do you know what's hidden in water? Sharks. This president wants you to die from a shark attack!"
Representatives for various bottled water companies quickly released a statement distancing themselves from the president's remarks and warning everyone not to submerge themselves in the ocean for minutes at a time.

Decades ago, Steve jobs told his employees that he wanted them a device that could make phone calls, access the internet and hold a giant music collection, all small enough to fit in his hand. He had no idea if such a thing could be made, no idea how to do it, but he leaned on those with the expertise until they came up with the iPhone. The left fawned over him, labeling him the genius for his vision and ignoring the experts who actually designed and created it.
Days ago, Trump told his employees that he wanted to see if there was a way to disinfect ones body, whether by cleansing agents or UV light, in order to kill off the Covid19 virus. Before his employees even have a chance to spitball the concept and use their expertise to come up with options, the left vilifies Trump and declares he is stupid.
The left is a bigger danger to this country than Covid19 ever was.

If musing "so that sounds interesting, but you're going to have to use medical doctors for that" = "inject Lysol" then you're an idiot--or Nancy Pelosi.
And Trump is right about UV light, according to the FDA Commisioner Steve Hahn.

It would have been nice if that's what he said, but unfortunately your wishes didn't come true. What he actually said was much more embarrassing, and much more difficult for you to explain away with your fantasies. But keep trying, it's very amusing to watch you people gleefully humiliate yourselves.

To imply that he may be the same kind of medical visionary that Steve Jobs was as a technical one is beyond a stretch. I doubt Trump ever thought of any of that stuff before the minute it came out of his mouth.

And Trump is right about UV light, according to the FDA Commisioner Steve Hahn. Leaders think about possibilities. Inventors fail much more often than they succeed when moving toward break through technologies... Just ask Edison about how making a light bulb went. Skeptics and critics ridicule ideas for various reasons that don't really interest me any more. At the end of the day, it seems their criticism is more fear based than anything...fear of failure or being wrong, or fear of the unknown and loss of what's familiar. As a rule, I stay away from or ignore the generally critical people, and try to surround myself with forward thinkers. It's way more fun. But to your point, I wonder if those making the PS's warning people not to inject themselves with household cleaners realize how insulting that is to anyone not in a mental institution. Or maybe they just think their readers or followers are just that stupid?

Seriously? You think it takes a doctor to know you don't want to inject yourself with disinfectant? You sure do give your guy a pass for being dumber than a fifth-grader. Sometimes I give you a pass Hmmm the asshat is still promoting that long-dead, debunked nonsense about injecting oneself, eh? i really think he should try it before he’s allowed to criticize it.

I wonder if there's a way we could take pellets from asteroids or meteorites and shove them up people's butts to cure colon cancer. Maybe it would work and maybe it wouldn't. I don't know, I'm not a medical doctor.
I'm definitely thinking outside the box, so does that put me in the same class of visionaries as Steve Jobs and Donald Trump?

If there's any linkage whatsoever to that being a possibility, you might be. But I'm guessing you're ignoring the concept of the Scientific Method that most of the anti-Trumpers are, or might be assuming Trump was advocating we skip to the 6th step? But if there were some way to safely and effectively to expose humans to some form of broadcast UV, or injectable disinfectant based medicine that would neutralize a virus, Trump may very well be in that class with Jobs. Isn't a form of Phenol ingestible, topical, and used as a surface disinfectant?

I'm sure those who developed chemotherapy and radiation as a cancer treatment had their skeptics as well. A good part of Trump's appeal in 2016 was his willingness to discard failed policies and consider ideas the scripted politicos wouldn't touch with a ten foot pole. Don't let TDS get the better of you. In a crisis I'd rather have someone who's willing to throw everything up against the wall to see what sticks than the Democrats proposals right now, which amount to suffocating the economy and revoking freedom until everyone feels safe to come outside around the middle of Joe Biden's first term in office. If Bruce Rollinson could think outside the box after 2014 and transform his team into the Catholic H.S. version of Alabama then others can do the same.
