My wife has a friend named Karen and the other day she asked "Who in the hell came up with this "Karen" thing? it's starting to piss me off. Who can I complain to about it?" She didn't understand why I was laughing so hard. I love getting the evil eye from the Karens--and their male counterparts--when I'm the only person at Lowe's or Stater Bros. without a mask. But when you're 6'4" no one gives you crap. Except in online communities where no one knows how tall we are... and, FTR, I’m 6’6” tall and IRL, just about everyone gives me crap. Fortunately, I have a quick wit and a sharp tongue so, when they do, I have a habit of reducing them to smoldering ruins... but I’m mellowing with age.

Here's a tidbit I didn't know until last week.
For the last century, in most countries, conservative political parties have traditionally been graphically portrayed as blue, while liberal or progressive parties have been red. This is likely because left-leaning parties are more closely aligned with socialist or communist ideals. These color "rules" are true in Britain, Germany, France and many other nations today. It was also true in the United States until 1992. Then, when Bill Clinton became president, he pressed the MSM to reverse tradition and make the Democratic party blue and the Republicans red, evidently because he did not want his party associated with socialism or communism, even by color. The MSM acquiesced, and we have the reversed color schemes we see today.

MDDad, plus red brings out aggressive behavior in people while blue is known to passify people. The press really ran with this during the Bush/Gore recount.

Not sure where this fits, but this is as good a place as any.
this is clever and humorous, but also mostly accurate:

Wonder what percent of these LEGAL sales are from RED STATE or BLUE STATES......? Trump and the rest of the GOP should run that image, ad infinitum, as a political ad.

The only problem with all the leftists moving out of their shithole cities is that they then try to change the place they move to in order to make it be like the place they left. There is a cognitive disconnect by lefties that the policies & people they vote for creates the cities that they hate.

This is a heavy analogy for the future of New York City...., did this blue state liberals anticipate this as their future... or noe future? New York City is ‘dead forever,’ according to one proud New Yorker Published: Aug. 16, 2020 at 5:42 p.m. ET www.marketwatch.com/story/new-york-city-is-dead-forever-according-to-one-lifelong-new-yorker-2020-08-16?siteid=yhoof2
Will the city that never sleeps ever wake up?
Not according to James Altucher, a best-selling author and former hedge-fund manager, who says that New York City is “dead forever” as its residents come to grips with the reality of the coronavirus pandemic and what it means for the fate of the Big Apple.
Will the city bounce back? “No. Not this time.” Will it remain the center of the financial universe? “Not this time.” New York has experienced worse? “Not it hasn’t.”
He pointed to several reasons as to why this time it’s different.
First, the center of the city is empty. Even though people are allowed to go back to work, they’re not, he said, citing the fact that the Time-Life building is almost a complete ghost town.
“Businesses have realized that they don’t need their employees at the office,” said Altucher, who is now in South Florida. “They’ve realized they are even more productive with everyone at home.”
What about the foodie scene?
“My favorite restaurant is closed for good. OK, let’s go to my second favorite. Closed for good. Third favorite, closed for good,” he wrote. “I thought the PPP was supposed to help. No? What about emergency relief? No. Stimulus checks? Unemployment? No and no. OK, my fourth favorite, or what about that place I always ordered delivery from? No and no.”
The data supports it. According to Yelp, 60% of restaurants around the U.S. have closed for good. Altucher puts that percentage much higher for New York City.
He then went into the death of the commercial real estate market and how online learning will keep college students out of the city as two other contributing factors in the city’s demise.
“This time is different. You’re never supposed to say that but this time it’s true. If you believe this time is no different, that NYC is resilient, I hope you’re right,” he said. “I don’t benefit from saying any of this. I love NYC. I was born there. I’ve lived there forever. I STILL live there. I love everything about NYC. I want 2019 back. But this time is different.”

Baltimore looks more like Berlin in 1945. What a sad commentary on how the Democrats have utterly destroyed a once-great city. I hope to God this young woman makes it to Congress--might be the best political ad of the year.
