Excellent, so you didn't approve of the president sending troops to clear out peaceful protesters so he could walk to a church with his bible. I agree. Sometimes I make statements designed to get a response. This was one of those times. See, when you misrepresent what happened in order to make a political point, you lose all credibility. You know damn well the president didn't send troops to Layfeyette Park (or you should if you are going to make such an accusation). The park police are who cleared out the protesters as the curfew was coming up did so based on the previous nights looting in which the church was set on fire. They were making sure it would not happen again. Now, you may think it is cute to lie in order to get a response but it does a couple of things. First, it reinforces a stereotype that those on the left are stupid or disengenous. That makes discourse between right & left more divisive, not the most admirable goal to have. Second, it gives those who oppose your views carte blanche to ignore them, not the reason one would take time to post on a forum such as this unless they are just trolling. Lastly, it induces people to act negatively towards you, which you then internalize as people hating you because you are gay. In short, not a good look. Well said, sir. |

I honestly feel it's a shame that Drew Brees apologized not once, but now twice for his comments. He certainly has a valid point and is deserved respect for all he has done for his community. I feel his teammates who publicly voice their opinion, owe him an apology. If they have a problem, and are trusted teammates as they imply, they could have privately asked for a discussion with him, instead of tearing up on social media. More ways to call an unbelievably fine person a racist and try to bully those who don't agree with you. Sickening...…………..

Defunding the police would be an unmitigated disaster for black neighborhoods. Which is probably why the Democrats are in favor of it. The events of the past week will eventually result in the worst damage to black Americans since Democrats enacted Jim Crow following the end of Reconstruction. I'm thinking the LA cops may decide to let the citizens police themselves here sometime soon |
