Seems to have slipped by the Media’s notice, but earlier in the week, “protesters” in Seattle managed to take over Seattle City Hall and have declared roughly a six block area around it a police-free autonomous zone, renaming it Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone, or CHAZ. According to an article on Fox Newsand I found this tidbit From The Daily Mail
A kick to all of this is, Sawant has long been a staunch critic of Mayor Durkan... who is a staunch progressive.

If they indeed believe themselves to be autonomous, they have assumed the freedom and responsibility to govern themselves and control their affairs. In essence, they've seceded from the union, which has been tried before with disastrous results. I'd suggest treating them as their name implies, meaning forcing them to provide for their own military defense, peacekeeping, fire protection, tax revenue, social services, and everything else that is the responsibility of an independent nation. If they want to call themselves autonomous, let them bear the burden of what that term means rather than just using it as a cool buzzword.

I assume the question is rhetorical and over exaggerated because no, this is not our future.

Insofar as I understand all this, it is my observation they are, indeed, just using it as a cool buzzword. Might not even understand what it actually means (as you describe). The American Thinker magazine has a decent write up on it, but I have not yet read it all the way through. And you’re probably already aware, Trump has already mandated that of the authorities in Seattle wont take back their city, he will... calling the protesters “anarchist thugs.”

I am with Trump and believe that he should take the city back and do it right away. What is he waiting for?

I say cut off the electricity, water, and WiFi to this entire area. Let them re-learn The Lord of the Flies and enjoy the proto-liberal 'State of Nature' described by Rousseau and Hobbes. I guarantee you that not one of these anarchists holed up there has ever changed a diaper or made a mortgage payment.

I am with Trump and believe that he should take the city back and do it right away. What is he waiting for? Right now that's being opposed by the mayor, the governor, the Secretary of Defense, and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs. I sincerely believe all these entities are doing nothing--in part--to bait Trump into bringing in military troops to instigate an armed fire-fight which they can then portray as Trump killing unarmed citizens (even though some of them are armed--it won't matter). Or, he tries to give that order and the Secretary of Defense and the Army refuses to follow it, which will then precipitate a political and constitutional crisis. Sadly, that's the environment we're in. Let the Democrat mayor and governor OWN this crisis--don't bail them out by deflecting attention away from their weakness and complicity. The downside of Trump--or any other leader--making threats and then failing to enforce them, is that he risks looking weak himself.

From all the photos I've seen, it's interesting that two of the first things these anti-gun, anti-Trump CHAZians did was arm themselves to the teeth and build walls and other barriers to prevent entrance into their "zone". Funny how they can champion one thing but do the opposite when they suspect push might come to shove.

Interestingly, the first thing the Antifa snowflakes did when they took over Seattle City Hall was... ...build a wall.

Read the thread from the Seattle Mayor--it will leave you speechless. A portion of her city has been taken over by armed radicals and she and the media are more upset at President Trump and his reaction to the lawlessness. This is Twilight Zone stuff.

Coming soon to a city near you??
Was at Anaheim city hall a couple days ago. That area is almost entirely boarded up, and city hall is closed indefinitely.

This is Twilight Zone stuff. i am moving over to the American Thinker suggestion that Trump NOT go in, guns a’blaring. Just let them stay in there and rot in their own filth. Mayor Durkan is embattled and Seattle has been a mess for years. She is playing the placating game, trying to wrest some level of control by taking what she believes is the woke route. She is also facing a perennial detractor in a councilwoman who LED THE CHARGE in taking over city hall. I’m reminded of a song: 🎶Clowns to the left of me, jokers to the right, here I am, stuck in the middle with you (except she’s not in the middle... she’s as far left as one can be)

No way you go in guns blazing as a first option. What you do is go in with mass force to let anyone leave who wants to, let anyone in who wants to, and get back out and let Seattle deal with this as they see fit.

Are there people within the CHAZ borders who want to leave? If so, how is this not a case of mass kidnapping and hostages?
