Spineless Republican senator wants to eliminate Columbus Day as a federal holiday. I might have to buy a statue of Christopher Columbus just to spite this jellyfish.

Actually, I appreciate him "trading" Federal holidays instead of just adding another one. Federal employees have enough days off, I don't want to give them another.
As far as choosing Columbus day to trade, thats okay with me. Columbus had less to do with the creation of the USA or its culture than most of the other holiday folks. Columbus didn't care about inalienable rights or freedom, he just ran into a couple of continents while trying to find another way to get to India.

Does anyone else remember when CNN was actually a news outlet, rather than the radical leftist loon mouthpiece it has now become? I heard on the radio this morning that CNN or one of its commentators has proposed the elimination of more words and phrases from the American lexicon. Among them are "master bedroom", "master bath", "master suite" and the "Master's Tournament" on the PGA tour. Also, phrases like "sold down the river" is proposed to be banned.
Can anyone guess what the end to this lunacy will eventually look like?
