The point of defending your property is to prevent it from being destroyed,or your family from being hurt. In the 2nd example, by the time you see the weapon or are shot at, you might be too late, and you end up shot and / or dead. Put in today's mob context, the threat of both are elevated significantly more than usual. In both examples, at which point do you use your weapon? At the point where you reasonably think your life is in danger. You think if you were driving this vehicle, you would be able to reasonably conclude your life was in danger in sufficient time to avoid being shot?

I have no idea...nor do I have any idea what your point is... I think a reasonable person waits until there's a clear threat to their life before they use deadly force against anyone else. I don't think a reasonable person goes out onto their porch with an assault rifle and exchanges insults with passing protesters. A reasonable person would have armed themselves, called the police, and waited inside, out of sight until the police arrived or the threat escalated to the point where more severe action is called for. If they were afraid of the mob why go outside and make yourself a target?

Conflating issues here.
In st louis, that couple didn't use deadly force. What they did was serve notice that they would. Seemed to work OK.
If you're hiding inside, your house may get destroyed while you pray the police show up in time, or if at all.
The question remains - how would you know the extent to which a mob, that just broke down and poured thru the security gate to your neighborhood, would not continue down a destructive path that would include YOUR home? Are you saying you would stay inside, wait for them to break in, and then open fire on them?
In the case of the guy in the truck surrounded by the mob in Utah, at what point are you going to step on the gas, or pull out your gun? AFTER you see it pointed at you?

So you can only brandish a gun if you fear bodily injury, but not if they're just going to steal and vandalize your property?

They called the police and they never showed up. Saying this is private property and demand they leave is exchanging insults? They went outside because a lot of people are sick of these mobs and weren't allowing themselves to be the victims.

Why are you people dropping to this leper’s level?
Surely you can abundantly see he is full of crap and has no regard (nor, apparently, ability) for reason or logic.

He's having a reasonable, insult free conversation.
We may end up on opposite sides of the fence when the dust settles...or maybe we won't entirely.

If they were afraid of the mob why go outside and make yourself a target? Millions of Americans likely disagree with you after seeing protestors destroying property across the country. Why wait inside after protestors have broken through their gate and are trespassing on their private property? Waiting inside like cowards increases the chances that protestors would destroy their property, which they have no right to do! Your opinion to allow protestors free rein on private property is cowardly and only your opinion that millions of Americans would find unacceptable.

The video this poster mentions was the best one to show just how crude and threatening the BLM crowd was. Unfortunately, that video is unavailable now. Either the person who tweeted it has taken it down, or Twitter has censored it. We can't have anything that shows the BLM in an unfavorable light, now can we? They called the wife every name in the book, chanted that they were gonna come for her, and threatened to take her gun away from her and use it on her. At least one of those so called "peaceful protesters, was seen armed with a long gun of his own. So not only does your missing video prove what you claim it proves, but it also proves how dishonest Twitter is doesn't it? Why not just wait for some reliable evidence from a reliable source? Your tirade might make sense, except for the fact that I saw (and heard), the video before it was taken down. Whether you believe me or not, will not have any effect on my sleep tonight. Thanks to YouTube here's PART of that video, although some of the insults and threats are censored/missing from this shortened video, but you can hear the threat at the beginning, calling her a bitch and threatening that they were going to be coming for her. Among the other terms missing from this shortened version, was "cunt," and after the man threatens to take her gun from her, he adds that he'll use it on her. I will acknowledge that what I thought was a long gun in the crowd, actually appears to be sound equipment, I believe.

Insult free? I guess you missed his insult free reply to MDDad: "It's a figure of speech you nitpicking idiot." While I consider it a badge of honor to be the subject of Vilepagan's "insults", that particular one was directed at RSM. My guess is that VP considers me an idiot, but not a nitpicker.

You are correct. My mistake. He was insulting RSM. I'll edit.

Here's a longer version, that still misses some of the threats and insults directed at these homeowners, (although the "eat the rich" chant was one I hadn't heard in the original video).

I know what an assault rifle is...considering your terrible grammar your ignorance doesn't surprise me. Oh, so you know what an assault rifle is? Then define it. And leave my grammar out of this, that wonderful woman died decades ago.
