This is just embarrassing ineptitude by Biden's nominee for Attorney General. And this is the guy Obama wanted on the Supreme Court in 2016? Holy smokes! what is embarrassing is that other countries are watching and WON’T criticize openly, but privately shake their heads. I’m not sure what us normal people expect from any of Harris’s Biden’s nominees.

Imagine if you were Vladimir Putin, Xi Jinping, Kim Jong-un or Ali Khamenei, and you are observing your only major rival with a senile president, an incompetent opportunist as VP, a childish bartender and a Muslim anti-Semite formulating the country's dominant ideology, a gridlocked congress, and a citizenry tearing itself apart over the stupidest of issues. You have to be absolutely giddy with the possibilities for leveraging that situation and taking advantage of it in ways you never could have imagined a few years ago.

There are parts of this with which I do agree...
Theodore Roosevelt, January 3, 1919 (If I recall correctly, he died 3 days later)
What do you think about his comments?

The first sentence should be amended to read, "We should insist that if the legal immigrant who comes here does in good faith become an American..." Otherwise, I think we have room for many languages here, but the official business of government and society should be conducted in English. Those who refuse to learn it bear the burden of possibly being unable to participate in our civics process. And while it shouldn't be illegal, I bristle when I see those who trumpet their loyalty to foreign countries, whether it's people waving the Mexican flag, painting their garage doors in red, white and green, or whatever. It would have never occured to my parents, my brother or me to hang an Austrian flag from our front porch or our '58 Chevy Bel Air radio antenna.

Agreed but with the stipulation that we can give Roosevelt the benefit of the doubt for what he might have said if he knew 102 years ago what we knew now?

That's commendable, but when did you decide that this idea was mandatory? Is it not possible to have a different idea of what it means to be an American and hold different ideas about how to show that?

That's commendable, but when did you decide that this idea was mandatory? Is it not possible to have a different idea of what it means to be an American and hold different ideas about how to show that? Once again you misrepresent what I wrote. I did not say my ideas or opinion was mandatory, in fact, I said "it shouldn't be illegal". But I have the right to be angered when people who came to this country as I did, by leaving a decimated historical homeland for better opportunities, choose to broadcast their loyalty to the shithole countries they left, rather than any gratitude or loyalty to the new country that has provided them those opportunities. I'm a huge fan of Mike Trout, but if he left the Angels because they suck, and signed to play with the Dodgers because they can provide him a better chance to accomplish his goals, I'd be pissed if he continued to wear his Angels jersey and wave his Angels flag. If Hispanic immigrants in the United States are still so loyal to their home countries, maybe they should have the courage to return there and fight to unfuck them by taking them back from the crime lords and drug cartels that run them now.
