Been reading about Club football the past few days. Not really on board with the idea if it were my kid. 7v7 or other OL/DL type stuff seems OK, but full contact games in whatever qualifies as an off-season wouldn't seem to bode well for the kids. Too much physical contact would likely be harmful, but I'll defer to the medical guys in the room as to the specific risks that may be associated beyond the obvious head injury risk.

agreed. I wouldn't let my kid play.
The Club footballl thats being discussed right now, is that tackle? I thought it was going to be more of a 7v7 flag situation, not tackling.

The "club" football being proposed by places like Winner Circle are 11-on-11 contact football. While the threat of injury has to be taken into account, the potential damage to eligibility may be an even greater consideration. In these times when circumstances and CIF policy change so quickly, any kid that participates on one of these club teams is risking his being eligible to later play for his high school.

Dad, in normal times you are correct. However my understanding is that in the CIF press release this Monday one of the more interesting things they said was that this year they are going to allow kids to play BOTH for their school and club. Having said that, I would not let my son play both club and school tackle football due to injury risk.

Yeah, that's Jordan Campbell's gym, and they've had one controversy of questionable behavior after another.

Club football is gaining a LOT of steam, and seems to be a viable alternative.

Club football is gaining a LOT of steam, and seems to be a viable alternative. California HSFB has been the tops in the nation for a number of years now, so much so that only an idiot politician like Gavin Newsom is capable of killing the Golden Goose. Thanks, Gov!

Club football is gaining a LOT of steam, and seems to be a viable alternative. I would just caution that any enterprise in which Winner Circle is involved is shadier than the ground under an oak tree. The owner of that enterprise is a grifter, a shyster and a conman.

I don't understand your concern. Mater Dei has been playing club football for the last 8 or 9 years..........Luca

It's more than Jordan Campbell's org, MDD.
CIF has an interesting decision. If they opt to support cancelation, schools may decide they no longer need the CIF, and opt to form another organization.
Ready to head one up MDD?

If CIF cancels the already postponed season, I say we just transfer the Trinity League to Arizona. Hell, I'll drive out there every weekend to watch our boys, make it a family getaway weekend.
