You have to wonder what has happened to American politics. In the last two presidential elections, our two major parties have given us Hillary Clinton, Donald Trump and Joe Biden. And we can probably add Gavin Newsom to that list next year.
Not exactly Washington, Jefferson and Lincoln, are they?

It’s as curious as it is sad. Three of the major political figures and they are all obviously mentally or psychologically impaired. We have a GOP ex-president with an obvious narcissistic personality disorder and everything that that entails. An active president with advanced cognitive impairment, if not outright dementia already. We have a vice president who is the most superficial empty suit I have personally ever seen on a national stage. And the really disturbing thing is MOST OF US ALL KNOW IT but an appalling number deny it for one or the other for political expediency.
I hate to think of the adage that people get the kind of leader ship that they deserve.

I guess I disagree a little with your opinion of Kamala Harris. I don't know what the politically polite term is, but she and Joe Biden are two of the stupidest national leaders I can remember -- Biden because he is impaired almost to the point of being vegetative, and Harris because she's just, well, stupid. There is no other explanation for her continuing to utter the almost unbelievable word salads she comes up with.
On the other hand, as I said in another post, Gavin Newsom is both intelligent and articulate. However, politically he stands for absolutely nothing other than his own political advancement. He has a record of failure as an executive that is almost unmatched nationally, yet he is the bright star in the Democratic constellation. That is my very definition of an empty suit.

Kamala Harris is speaking to her audience. It's not intended for anyone who advanced beyond 4th grade.
Agree with MDD assessment of Newsom.
Seems many have replaced Face the Nation with The View for political conversations.

I may decide to run for vice president, so I think it's important to start declaring my own deepest philosophies:

I'm also working on identifying as a stupid black woman, so I should be a shoe-in for the job.
