I've been to a few churches abroad, and this is my favorite. Beautiful Cathedral, and thanks for posting this. Now I know what happened to my favorite Madras shirt from 1962. That guy in the lower left hand corner has it.

This video shows the other altars and displays inside the cathedral.
Pizzaro's tomb is there as well. Surprised at that one.

I do a daily devotional called My Utmost for His Highest. I promise I won’t regularly subject but today’s entry is on point with what we expect of God:

Today in the Church's liturgical calendar is the Memorial of St. Thomas Aquinas (1225-1274). The exchange below came from a vision Thomas had near the end of his life. (Friday is the Memorial of St. John Bosco.)

The holy season of Lent begins today with Ash Wednesday. Pray, Fast, and give Alms. Please share these if you are so inclined.
You are dust, and to dust you shall return. (Genesis 3:19)

I could have placed this post in many a thread, from the election to the Democrats, to the Liberal Mindset......, but at the core of this story is those caught between their faith and what they practice versus what the far left controlled Democrat Party now wants to preach as their platform of belief..., Michigan black pastor rebukes DNC: ‘Do I have a place in this party?’
The Democratic Party is learning that it can no longer take the black vote for granted. At a meeting in Detroit on Friday, black Democrats asked DNC chairman Tom Perez whether the party has veered so far-left that it has alienated millions of black voters.
Pastor Chris Martin of the Cathedral of Faith in Flint, Michigan, said he’s a lifelong Democrat. Martin is a moderate who doesn’t support abortion or same-sex marriage.
Pastor Martin noted that the Republican Party has done more outreach to the black community in Michigan than the Democratic Party has.
This Democratic apathy — combined with the party’s continued migration to the Far Left — has Martin concerned that there’s no room for centrist Democrats like him in the party anymore.
“I am a moderate Democrat, but I do not support abortion. I do not support same-sex marriage,” Pastor Martin said, according to the Detroit Free Press. “I have people in my congregation who ask us, ‘How do we preach one thing on Sunday, but then campaign for people who are totally opposed to that?’
READ HERE: www.bizpacreview.com/2020/03/01/michigan-black-pastor-rebukes-dnc-do-i-have-a-place-in-this-party-892735“For decades, Democrat politicians betrayed African-Americans. They forced their childen into failing schools. They shipped their jobs to foreign countries. They pushed unfair [jail] sentencing policies on them. They favored illegal aliens over their own constituents. My administration is reversing these failed policies and delivering record gains for African-Americans.” ~ TRUMP
Three new polls indicate that President Trump’s approval rating among black voters has quadrupled since 2016. In addition to alienating black voters, Democrats have alienated millions of white voters. Victor Davis Hanson — a senior fellow at the Hoover Institution, a public-policy think tank — said the trend is devastating for the Democrats.

Happy Solemnity of the Annunciation!Little-known fact: In the sixth month, the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a town of Galilee called Nazareth, to a virgin betrothed to a man named Joseph, of the house of David, and the virgin’s name was Mary. And coming to her, he said, “Hail, favored one! The Lord is with you.” (Luke 1:26-28) Fra Angelico, 1435 (Prado)………...love the theology in this masterpiece.

Being at home, I actually watched a good portion of this live on Facebook, and it was both surreal and uplifting at the same time. I'm not a huge fan of Pope Francis--as opposed to Benedict XVI and John Paul II--but I have to say this may have been his finest moment, especially considering the situation in Italy.

Credo...is it safe to assume you're well read enough in religious studies to compare and contrast some of the other main religions?
What I'm most interested in is the Muslim faith, and where it splinters off from what I assume is "good", to the radicalized version of it that directs killing of the infidels.
