I never get tired of this quote. While the original context was the rise of communism in Russia, it explains so much of what is wrong in our society today.

I find it ironic that Solzhenitsyn wrote thousands of pages, yet could summarize the world's ills in just those ten words. Good job, Aleks.
Whenever I've gotten into religious discussions with believers and non-believers regarding the existence of God, I've frequently tried to sum up the discussion like this: "It almost isn't important whether or not God exists. What is important is that the belief He does exist has caused billions of people to treat each other with kindness and charity for four thousand years." I've come across very few counters to that.
