I haven't made up my mind yet, about whether or not to get the shots. On the one hand, I think my chances of surviving the disease are pretty good, despite my age and medical history, but on the other hand, they say there are sometimes serious conditions that can arise even if you survive the disease, so I don't know. I imagine though that by the time they get to me, I'll have a better idea.

By the time they get to me, I guess I'll know. By the time they get to you, you'll be dead of old age.

I'm just thankful President-elect Biden was able to use his influence to intercede and get this vaccine delivered by the end of the year. That Trump guy...meh...what did he ever do in the 4 years in office besides killing all those people around the world with Covid, and cause all those fires in CA by getting out of the Paris Accord?

Joe Biden has been an absolute rock star since the election. He's saved hundreds of thousands of lives by fast-tracking vaccine deliveries and getting it to Americans before Christmas. The organizational abilities of this man boggle the mind, but his next benevolent measure has to be hiring a food taster.

... And he's checking all the boxes of diversity with his new cabinet.

That's right. They may not be worth a crap when it comes to doing the job, but damn it, they're going to look like a freakin' rainbow when they sit around the table.

Donald Trump--unlike bureaucrats like Fauci--are about getting results. Another reason why the D.C. Establishment hates Trump--he's shown how useless they are.

All vaccines have potential side effects. You have to balance the benefits to society versus the side effects that happen in a relative few. This is the case for all vaccines. But it’s a guarantee as soon as somebody develops a side effect from the new COVID-19 vaccine it’s going to make headlines all over the headline hunting media and it’s going to cause another unnecessary uproar.

I absolutely agree, Luca, but there are also steps in the testing protocol that have been skipped. For example, my daughter-in-law is a surgical nurse and will be an early candidate for vaccination. However, she's also three months pregnant, and the vaccine has not been tested on pregnant women. So what is she supposed to do?

Given this is the first coronavirus vaccine in history, that was also developed at warp speed, what's the likelihood of it alone not being such a killer to begin with?

However, she's also three months pregnant, and the vaccine has not been tested on pregnant women. So what is she supposed to do? That's a good question and I'd probably try to avoid the vaccine if I were her. I'm willing to take chances with my own health but not with somebody else's. I'm not aware of any vaccines (other than live vaccines) that are a particular risk in pregnancy but nonetheless I'd probably want to avoid it. I'm not sure I understand your question, Bick, but if you're asking what are the chances that this vaccine will have no side effects, the answer is probably zero. It's bound to affect some people adversely. Maybe not significant reactions but, my God, 10% or more people report side effects with placebos. If you're asking what are the chances it will be a "deadly" vaccine, I'd say pretty close to zero also, given the testing that has already been done. I might be required to get one pretty soon. So if you don't hear from me again you might want to wait a little while on that vaccine.............Luca

I might be required to get one pretty soon. Wow, I guess I just assumed there was an upper age limit above which they wouldn't waste a dose.

There is, unless you have socially redeeming value. But if you can photoshop a current picture of yourself I could write you a letter of exemption if you’d like.
