It is going to be interesting to see who the Democrats wind up with. Finally everybody seems to agree that Biden was a totally unacceptable and now mentally incompetent candidate. Kamala Harris has no discernible ability or accomplishments, although if giggling were an indication of IQ she could wrap it up in a week. Unless the position is bequeathed her by default I don't know who else they would come up with. It would be a street fight and without sufficient time to let Democratic voters decide I assume it would be resolved by a few donors and insiders. And whoever it is will be greeted lockstep with "My God, this is the perfect candidate, the one we should chosen all along, etc, etc............"
But I would still bet that it will be close. Probably some 40 to 45% will vote for the Democratic or the Republican candidate no matter who it is. Trump has the head start in attracting that wavering 10 to 20% but that SOB cannot control his mouth, has limited sense of propriety and he will be unable to avoid antagonizing much of that group and make a closer than it should be. Four months is a long time and you shouldn't underestimate his ability to piss it away............................Luca

Why the hell is Michelle Obama even being considered? She has absolutely no demonstrated ability, no experience, and no record of accomplishments in either the public or private sector.
If the essential criteria are being black and female and married to a celebrity, why not Will Smith’s wife? Or Morgan Freeman’s wife? Or Shaquille O’Neil’s wife? Just think of those millions to choose from…….Luca

I bet Gavin with throw his hat in the ring and it will be him. My advice, strategically speaking to Gavin would be sit out this complete epic sh*t-storm of an election cycle. He is young enough to wait for 2028. This is similar to the advice I gave, would have to DeSantis in the primary, wait this out, do not get in the room w/ the 800 pound gorilla. However he, the gorilla has done it, he is still in the room. |

I'm afraid that the election will end up in the courts with all the law suits coming with this last minute change. Many people are not happy with Biden being forced out and a lot of them will be at the convention. If the polls come out and say Harris can't win will they force her out too? We don't need any more chaos in our elections.

I was reading an article in the Wall Street Journal recently with a headline in the commentary section in which the author lead off with "Trump could have wrapped up the election with his acceptance speech. He did not."
That was a sort of validation for me. I didn't listen to Trump's entire speech but I was surprised when in the initial comments he spoke about unity and ending violence and the animosity. This was the perfect time for him to make those points, having nearly been killed a few days before. I remember thinking to myself "That's nice, he must be listening to his advisors for once."
But then of course he went off the rails once again ad libbing and ranting about the 2020 election, "we-had-the-greatest-this" and "we-had-the-greatest-that" and being his old unrepentant narcissistic self, likely alienating those swing voters that perhaps for a moment he had in the palm of his hand.
I remember thinking "GodDAMMit, you just cannot HELP yourself, can you? You can't show even a HINT of humility or compromise. You cannot even LEAN across the aisle, let alone stretch your arm out across it."
I believe for a moment he had the opportunity to give himself an insurmountable lead, but true to form pissed it away. Now I'm not so certain that he is going to win the election against the most incompetent, unqualified, vapid compulsive giggler presidential candidate the U.S. has ever seen.
It would be hysterical if it weren't so serious. I've had a few patients with narcissistic personality disorder and it's both fascinating and sad to listen to them. They cannot bring themselves to believe that they aren't the smartest person in the room or the most accomplished. They are never wrong and if you try to convince them otherwise they can become enraged.

So the fundraiser last month that George Clooney et al. held for Biden last month raised millions. It was evident to those holding the event that Biden was not fit to run, as was evidenced by the way that Obama led him off stage & how Clooney & others soon called for him to step down. Raising campaign funds for a person you know is unfit to run & who you actively try to stop from running sure looks like fraud to me.
Then when you add the components of trying to force Biden down from a position he won the votes for (Democratic nominee), you end up with election interference. As I recall from a recent trial, a misdemeanor done in conjunction with another misdemeanor adds up to a felony, no?
So Alvin Bragg should be contacting his L.A. counterpart & bring the charges any day now. I know this is not a point that the general voting public would care much about & wouldn't move a poll needle, but it is another reminder of the barriers to office that the right faces compared to the left.

Like you and MDD have expressed, it's just inconceivable that Trump can't offer a scintilla of grace or humility needed to truly dominate this. It's the guy that scores the TD that just HAS to draw a stupid UI penalty every time and keeps the other team in the game.
Kamala may as well pick AOC for her running mate. Imagine those 2 in the WH.

It is amazing how all of a sudden these leftists say "He should step down". Most people I know, in the real world, knew in 2020 that he had dementia. He was failing. Despite how his policies would ruin the country, which they did and he was demented. They should not have stopped the count in 2020 at 10PM in those five states. He was ahead in the count that night, and then we wake up to find out Biden won. Really? Are people just that stupid to think that? They had better not stop the count at 10PM this November. |
