Many of Trump's supporters are almost like cultists, fanatically supporting a personality rather than a policy platform. That's almost never a good thing, and he revels in it like a teenage movie star. The best thing he could do to ensure a 2024 victory is endorse another candidate and urge his supporters to make that switch. Spot on... exactly how I feel, as well. But odds are, he won't. Like you say, "...like a teenage movie star."

"...like a teenage movie star." That's why I was always a little uncomfortable with Trump having his finger on the nuclear trigger. He reacts to everything with his gut, and it would have taken only one perceived insult to which he reacted like a petulant child to have caused a catastrophe. Unfortunately, the only thing worse than having a child on the trigger is having a bumbling corpse like we do now, or a cackling moron like we might have in a year or two.

Thats one tactic, one the left does better than the right, just fall in line behind one candidate, yes there will be some in-fighting along the way yet in the end coalesce. What would worry me if Trump and DeSantis go against each other is that if DeSantis got the nomination, would Trump and his ardent followers not take their toys home and pout. I believe Trump deserves another term just based on his first 4 years, yet I think the country as a whole might be better off with a personality and policymaker like DeSantis. Or so I want to believe the leftist loons and media won't demonize him just as much as they did Trump. DO you really think Meta and Twitter will change their ways on social media? Not.

It may actually be an advantage for the Democrats that they don't have a cult leader like Trump, whose millions of groupies follow him like he's Jesus Christ. In the Georgia senate elections, Trump proved that he's not only perfectly willing to pick up his ball and go home, but actually badmouth the state, the governor and the attorney general, and help the Democrats win those two critical seats. For Trump, his ego and his brand always come first, and that's pretty unforgivable.

DeSantis is far more electable than Trump is. DeSantis stands for much of what Trump stands for without the narcissistic baggage that turns off a lot of voters………..Luca pretty sure Trump has already been eleted president. before

I liked Trump from the beginning. Ted Cruz was my second choice in the last election. Trump did an outstanding job. I like what he did with North Korea and the Middle East. He was and is right on so many things. I liked him even before he proved himself - maybe because I was unhappy with the typical GOP candidates. But DeSantis has a track record now too. I wish he was governor of our state. If he doesn't run for President, I'll pick Trump despite his shortcomings.

history matters,,,him already winning ,,says he's more electable That's ridiculous. By your reasoning, Jimmy Carter is also more electable. (Look him up. He was probably president long before you were born.)

Yes, he did a lot that was very good, and he did it despite monumental opposition by satanic-level haters. They just could not accept he beat their darling cankles. But he had an unfortunate psyche that gave him an inability to STFU... as MDDad said, "...a petulant child." Always reminded me of that children's poem:
