This needs it's own thread. Bick, can you transfer the previous posts on this topic over here?
Sondy's getting some shade in the comments for not seeming to be as outraged by this as he was over Inglewood's 106 point game a few weeks ago....

Yet again, Sondheimer is not only willing to prove he doesn't know what he's talking about, but that he's also willing to fan flames where there aren't any.
Amanda Waters was not a big-time hire. She was the AD at Carlsbad, and within a month of her taking the Mater Dei job it was apparent to everyone, including her, that she was in so far over her head that a parting of the ways was inevitable. She was a wonderful young lady, but honest to God, talking to her was like talking to Alicia Silverstone in Clueless. Fortunately, she found the perfect job, AD at a small, low-profile high school on an island off the coast of the Carolinas, so it worked out well for both sides.

Then why was someone who was so obviously unqualified hired to take over arguably the #1 high school athletic program in the nation? Doesn't exactly reflect well on the judgment of the Mater Dei administration.

That was my reaction as well, if she was not a big hire, not much more than a minnow in a big sea, how the heck did she even get close, let alone get the job? No disrespect to her, never met her, but its sounds very Kamala Harris -esque.

The timing is terrible because it's incredibly suspect. I haven't heard the term used in a long time, but there used to be a concept in business marketing and promotions called Timing for Greatest Impact, or TGI. It was the strategy of releasing a new product or advertising campaign when it would have the greatest positive impact on sales and profits. A good example is the release of blockbuster movies just before Memorial Day and the 4th of July. Maybe this is another example of TGI. The timing indeed is suspect, can't get away from that. True, partial truth, not true at all, impact either way is "damage" to brand. As the dominate player in a field, just the slightest slip in "market" share can be disastrous.

I don't know how she was vetted or why she was hired. But I'm confident that Mater Dei is not the first organization in history to hire someone who turned out to be a bad choice. Shall we start a list?

Bad hire is a mistake.
Keeping a bad hire is a failure.
Lots of armchair QBs who have never had to make either decision out there.

In typical Fred Robledo fashion, thinking this lawsuit over an event that happened 9 months ago is suddenly going to be a distraction for the team. What kind of stupid would believe this to be so?

Clueless as she may have been, the timing of her resignation would foot with a disagreement over how this was being handled, and the alleged lack of cooperation with police investigators, and the alleged retaliatory disciplinary designation of the transfer that prevented player 1 from participation at the new school. Pure speculation on my part, but it seems like a reasonable position. Put it this way, if it were me, I'd resign under those circumstances.

Also, why is this being called a hazing incident?

The timing of her leaving coincided with her finding a new AD position much more in line with her experience and maturity.
And I can tell you that in the past twenty years, the program has never prevented a player from transfering or playing at another school if that was what they wanted. For any reason.

We've had a couple former Monarchs head this way, and it was not blocked in any way. That's what's struck me as so odd as what is being alleged in the lawsuit (classified a disciplinary xfer) that I posted earlier.

Also, why is this being called a hazing incident? EGG-ZACKT-LY My understanding of "hazing" is when current / older members perpetrate something involuntarily upon a newcomer. That wasn't the case here at all.
