As if any of us really cared, the major league baseball strike/lockout has come to an end. The biggest changes are:
(1) The National League will now use the designated hitter.
(2) The minimum salary has been raised to $700K. That means reserve infielders who can't hit .150 will get at least $27,000 a week for stretching before the game and then watching it from the dugout.
(3) Advertising is now allowed on jerseys and batting helmets, so get ready for players to start looking like NASCAR drivers.
I've been a baseball since 1964, but I think I'm just about done. Now it will just be high school football and the NHL for me.

I don't think I have ever watched a complete NHL game.

That's kind of sad, like when I hear Servite kids say they've never been on a date. If you ever watch an NHL game live, you'll be hooked.

I had a friend that moved to OC from Big Bear. He played hockey in High School. About 40 years ago we sat down and watched a hockey game. I started to learn some of the rules etc. But I never played that sport.
Today, many of my customers are into futbol.
BTW, as per baseball, I did like the NL non- designated hitter. As per #2 on the list, I don't have an opinion, BUT as per #3: I can't wait to see who the advertisers will be. That will be different.

I threw a ball in my back yard the other day. My shoulder hurt after that. AND, I couldn't even throw it very far. That was a great throw Bick. When I was young I had a friend with an outfielder arm.

I am a right hander in sports. You should see me throw with my left hand / arm. I look like a girl. Sadly, when I threw in the backyard with my right hand, I felt like a girl. 
That was an impressive throw Bick, especially considering the situation you make. The pro's will be watching. And he was "Out". That is what MLB (and minors) is all about: Plays like that. Defensive plays like that.

I've seen plays where outfielders are running to the foul line, and then have to pivot and make that throw. If he does, the runner is safe.

I don't know if anyone still has the nerve to call themselves an Angels fan, but their performance in this weekend's series against the Astros is one of most pathetic I've ever seen. And I've followed them since 1964 when Dean Chance won the Cy Young Award.
On Friday, they had two hits and struck out 16 times.
Yesterday, they had three hits and struck out 12 times.
Today, they had three hits and struck out 20 times!
Think about that for a minute, in a game of 27 outs, they failed to put the ball in play 20 times. These guys absolutely suck, and Artie Moreno should be forced by the other owners to sell the team.

It is not the first time we have seen the Angels suck. Sometimes I wonder why I am an Angel fan. I think it has to do with how easy it was for me to see a live game.  Who wants to drive to LA? |

Too bad every game wasn't like this. Picture hits a triple plus comes in for a run a couple times.
