Yes, Mike Trout's broken hand will hurt the Angels, but it's not like they haven't sucked for the 11 years he's been with the team. And he's not the player he used to be:
First, he's become a .260 hitter, not the guy who hit over .300 six times. Second, he now strikes out at an alarming rate -- he would average over 200 K's this year over 162 games. Third, he doesn't run anymore. In his first two full seasons, he stole 82 bases. In his last three years he stole four. And fourth, he has become injury prone. In the last two years, he's missed 169 games to injury, and he'll miss another 40 or 50 with this one.
But the real reason the Angels suck is Arte Moreno. His infatuation with signing over-the-hill sluggers to big contracts is legendary. But even worse is his hiring of general managers. I you needed brain surgery, you wouldn't think of choosing a surgeon who has never performed one. And if you want to win a World Series, who hire a general manager who's done so. Instead, Moreno hired Tony Reagins, Jerry Dipoto, Billy Eppler and Perry Minasian, none of whom ever had any track record of success in the job. That's the real crime in Anaheim.

He got jealous of Ohtani strikeouts and wanted to challenge the mark

Hey MD, do the Dodgers have a new player and how much are they paying him? Yes, I understand they signed free agent pitcher Joe Kelly, who was 2-5 last year with a 4.12 ERA. That should finally get them over the hump.

Hey MD, do the Dodgers have a new player and how much are they paying him? They aren't actually paying him....now. Mostly all deferred... crooked and criminal as to why I really no longer watch much MLB.

Since the Dodgers are only paying Ohtani $2 million a year for the next ten years, they can still afford to sign every free agent pitcher still on the market. If they don't win at least 130 games and sweep the playoffs without losing a game, their entire front office should by fired.

I'm not that big a baseball fan but the Dodgers versus Yankees in a World Series is a classic chapter and I had to watch it. I came across this video of a Yankee announcer who is obviously not on the major airwaves announcing the 5th inning of the final game. I'm all for passionate fans but this guy is way the hell over the top and it's hysterical. I've watched this 10 times and can't stop laughing. It's just the first 3 minutes that are worth watching………………Luca

It's just the first 3 minutes that are worth watching………………Luca When our boys turned 18, their birthday present was a trip to New York that included going to a Yankee game (they were both Yankee fans, for during their impressionable years, the Jeter led Yankees were in the World Series nearly every year). It was a May game against the Royals, a game of no real significance, but the home crowd was similar to the Angels crowds for playoff games. All the pregame festivities hammered home the success of the franchise over the years, 90% of the fans wore Yankee jerseys and the crowd lived & died on every pitch. That guy on the video was just an average Yankee fan. When they talk about East Coast teams with fan bases who take wins & loses at a deep level, they are not exaggerating. Each game is life & death for these folks.

I agree with both of you.
Life on the East Coast is much harder than it is here, and it's reflected in the life-and-death allegiance fans have with their sports teams. I admire that. In contrast, West Coast fans are so soft and pussified that the only things they seem capable of taking seriously are gay and transgender rights, and that's pathetic.
With that said, the three Yankee errors in that fifth inning will be remembered as one of the greatest gag-jobs in baseball history. Gerrit Cole must have been dreaming of coming home again to pitch for Orange Lutheran when he forgot to cover first base. They were choking so hard even Dr. Henry Heimlich could not have saved them.
