Wow Bick, it is hard to believe that 1972 was 50 years ago.  There were a lot of interesting plays. The Mariners WS with the bunt down the first base line and a tag out by the pitcher. It is like a pickle. How often you see that? |

That's kind of sad, like when I hear Servite kids say they've never been on a date... What is a man your age doing hanging around teenage boys from another school? i clearly recall you saying that staying 500 feet away from minors was part of your probation. When I was at Servite, the only guys who never had a date were the guys who used to hang around Mater Dei girls. Those chicks would just come over to guys homes and then call a cab for themselves later. Pretty efficient young lasses. As for myself, I never spent any time with a Mater Dei girl, my mom had a strict "No Sluts" policy at our home. But not all Mater Dei girls are sluts. The ones who aren't are cows. Just making up for lost time... |

The night Bobby Kennedy was shot was a very sad day in my life. So was 9-11. And so was the day Joe Biden got 81 million "votes" to become the first vegetable in the Oval Office. But today may top them all. Arte Moreno has decided not to sell the Angels after all, but instead continue to steer them down the path into the shitter. Goodbye, Shohei. It's been great watching you for a few years. Can't wait to see what 45-year-old sluggers Arte decides to sign to ten-year deals in the future.

There aren't many athletes who are so unique that you can say, "There's never been anyone like him". In fact, Shohei Ohtani may be the only one. He's always compared to Babe Ruth, but Ruth was a full-time pitcher with the Red Sox and then a full-time outfielder with the Yankees. Ohtani does them both at once, and he's elite at both disciplines.

493 feet is an impressive drive. But Shohei will have an even longer one after the World Series is over, when he drives his ass 31 miles up the 5 Freeway to Dodger Stadium. Bye-by, Shohei, it's been an amazing six years. Burn in hell, Arte.
