Yah, number two? Butkus was a monster on the field but personable off the field in his pro career. Bosworth won the Butkus award twice.

He ain't in the Trinity League any more.... I sincerely wish J.T. the best of luck, and I hope the many HSFB players who have been told for years that they walk on water realize that at the next level and beyond fortunes can change radically on a dime. There are no guarantees and no rewards based on potential alone. Pretty old post, but I think JT will have a monster year at UVW with Graham Harrell as their new OC. |

some interesting ideas here... long read, like we say HSF is becoming modeled after College Football to be modeled one day like NFL Football.

With the money that's apparently available for NIL deals, I have a hard time believing there's not enough for a national level high school league with a true national championship.
I think that would allow for more of a return to a normal 2-3 year cycle of dominant teams at the local / state level.

This has been a long time wet dream of fervent fans, but it's selfish. Even if the money were available (which I doubt), we can't ask high school kids to miss two days of school every other week to travel across the country just to placate those fans. It imposes too much of an academic burden for them to have to make up in some way.
Besides, why do we need a "true national champion" at the high school level? We had poll champions in college football for over a century and weren't any worse off than we are now.
