Fox News anchor tells viewers Trump could be handcuffed if indicted
David Badash, 3/17/2023
Fox Corp. anchor John Roberts told viewers Friday afternoon that if Donald Trump is indicted he might be handcuffed.
Discussing reports that the Manhattan District Attorney's Office has requested a "meeting with law enforcement ahead of a potential Trump indictment," Roberts said, "to discuss logistics for some time next week, which would mean that they are anticipating an indictment next week."
Roberts appears to report the decision to handcuff the former president or not would be up to the Secret Service.
"Same sources familiar with the planning said they will go over security preparations in and around the courthouse in lower Manhattan. Secret Service will take the lead in what they will allow or will not allow, the source cautioned, mentioning for instance, that the decision to handcuff the president, the former president, or not, they will set the tone and will escort him into the courtroom."
Bragg's Office has been investigating Trump's $130,000 payment to Stormy Daniels, which could fall under a number of legal categories, including falsification of business records and unlawful campaign contributions, among others.
Without even knowing what charges Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg might bring to indict Trump, if he even decides to charge the ex-president, Roberts claimed: "This was a misdemeanor in New York that Alvin Bragg has decided to elevate to a felony while at the same time downgrading other felonies to misdemeanors. So we'll be watching this to see how it all unfold to get more information as it comes in."
The New York Times last week reported, "In New York, falsifying business records can amount to a crime, albeit a misdemeanor. To elevate the crime to a felony charge, Mr. Bragg's prosecutors must show that Mr. Trump's 'intent to defraud' included an intent to commit or conceal a second crime."
"In this case," The Times explained, "that second crime could be a violation of New York State election law. While hush money is not inherently illegal, the prosecutors could argue that the $130,000 payout effectively became an improper donation to Mr. Trump’s campaign, under the theory that it benefited his candidacy because it silenced Ms. Daniels."
Earlier Friday NBC News reported that five local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies were meeting to coordinate plans if Trump is indicted.

If they don't handcuff him, maybe Trump should fake being cuffed like AOC did at the abortion rights protest last July. And then maybe he can tilt his head to one side and let his tongue bulge out so it looks like he's being lynched with an invisible rope.

He could also hire fake crowds, protestors, rioters and what not from places like these:

I read something that had me thinking about Trump a bit.
Maybe the issue isn't Trump himself, but the IDEA of breaking away from the mainstream political status quo of power by an outsider.

That would be good. But Elon doesn't realize that they cheated in Philadelphia, Detroit, Minneapolis, Milwaukee strongholds which threw those swing states. They will be prepared for a landslide with extra ballots already marked for the Dem. Hillary said the same thing in 2016.

Side show to keep the news off of.........
Covid scam. Binden and China. War in Europe.
Again we will see Antifa thugs dressed like Trumpers fighting cops in New York. 45 and his voters will be shown as a danger to America and must be stopped. Red meat for CNN and MSNBC.
This is a set up. Blue city in a Blue state.

Congressman Jim Jordan wants to bring the NY DA to Washington to get more info on his investigation. LOL - Backfire. The DA is going to be called to testify.

We have seen his opposition (Democrats) go to such lengths to not allow that to happen that our institutions from the courts to the FBI have been weaponized. This is the greatest threat to our existence as a nation.

I agree, although I think weaponizing political institutions against political enemies, as well as the general population, is only half the threat. The other half, which bothers me even more, is the passivity with which we tolerate everything that has been done in that direction. It seems that as long as we have NCAA brackets to fill out every year, and Apple releases a new iPhone every year, we're perfectly willing to put up with anything else the government may do. We've become a lazy old dog that is too complacent to do anything about anything.

I think that is why he is the best candidate for 2024, even better than DeSantis. I know MD disagrees, although MD's politics are spot on (except on Trump).

I agree. I saw that DeSantis statement. Pete is right on, and I agree. I like DeSantis too, but this is the time to unite against a witch-hunt against Trump. The DOJ, the FBI, and now the NY DA is politicized (worse than that - we are turning into Venezuela).

I don't blame Desantis for distancing himself from Trump.
They're political rivals, and I'd bet trump would do the same, if not worse.
