Bick,
I noticed on the home page that there were 169 guests in the past 24 hours. Does that include any time one of us members visits the site w/o logging in? That seems like a big number, but nice if true.

That seems like a big number, but nice if true. Credo I'm not sure, but when I've clicked on the Guests, it just shows me IP addresses. But now that we're up and running, we're averaging about 1,100 page views / day. That seems to be the metric that anyone pays attention to. We started out less than 100. I don't really know if that's good or bad other than the trend is higher. Dave or MDD might be able to shed some light on this. |

With only 12 members currently, a daily page view of 20 to 30 each is probably in the ballpark. That still leaves over 700 views by curious outsiders. Probably not a bad start after only 30 days of existence.

I have a small nagging concern, and I need someone to tell me everything's going to be all right.
The objective of this forum was ostensibly to provide a venue for intelligent discussion of issues, but I'm not sure that's what's happening most of the time. I see a lot of insulting and ridiculing of liberals without their having a chance to rebut (just as TOB does to conservatives), and a lot of insulting and ridiculing of liberal politicians and their pet issues (again just like TOB does). If my perception is correct, are we on the road to becoming just like TOB, except from the other side of the river? If we are, is that what we want?
Or am I full of crap and overreacting?

I don't think I'll need to send Winston Wolf yet, but I do believe everything will be all right (no pun intended). My sense is more than a few guys here have been particularly vilified from the guys on the left on the other board, and need to vent a bit, so to speak. I can only speak for myself in that I'm more interested in a balanced perspective, and hopefully guys like you will reign things in towards the middle if some topics go un-objectively too far to the right. Playing Devil's Advocate isn't such a bad thing either, absent of any legit leftists here, There just seems to be so many topics we could never really discuss without a bunch of noise before. The key here is objectivity. From what I've read so far, I'm not seeing much in the way of someone being overly un-objective yet. |

I'm hoping some of you more forum-savvy guys might be able to help with this issue from Dave. Also, if you've got some other issues regarding the functionality, please address it here. Truth be known, this stuff is not my bailiwick, and some of you have a lot more experience with these issues.

Truth be known, this stuff is not my bailiwick, and some of you have a lot more experience with these issues. Update. i sent that problem twice this morning: Once to Bick (as our administrator) and once to the ProBoards Support forum. i Sent them after I did what I know to do: Deleting history and cookies, and blocking the redirected URL (which still took me there, but wouldn’t let it display). that wa then, this is now. Someone did something, because that problem has not recurred the last two times I’ve been in here. |

Ron gave me a heads up about this board a short while ago, looks cool. I believe I know most of you, for those I don't, I was on the original Orange County Register forums way back when it existed. When the Register pulled the plug on that site, I migrated (legally) with may others to OCConnect. However, in just a few short months, JQP banned me at the behest of his stooge ParrotPaul. It didn't help that I repeatedly remarked that JQP couldn't afford to live in Orange County, that his website was as close as he was going to get to being an Orange Countian. Ah, the good old days. Oh, & Mater Dei still blows...  |
