Oh Man! I almost spit water on my screen!!!! That was classic RSM. It’s been interesting to see that you have been posting some on TOB, Red. I think they’ve gotten used to not having any dissenting opinions over there. It’ll be interesting to see if you get tossed, also. I couldn’t help but add a comment myself regarding the end of the Mueller investigation. The “collusion” scandal is, of course, morphing into the “obstruction of justice” scandal. Thry’re Like those Bible interpreting millenialists who predicted the end of the world on January 1, 2000. When nothing happened suddenly it was “Well, we went back and realized we miscalculated the secret code. Now we know the world will actually end on............” |

Yes, "obstructing justice" in an investigation into something--"collusion" with Russia--that never happened. Good one, Dems. As I said a few times on TOB, all this sound and fury has always been about one thing, and one thing only: Orange Man BadOK, but realize what is going on here (and I know we all, already do): Obstruction of Justice, is still a criminal act, whether or not the underlying investigation produced any criminal undertaking. it is entirely possible, in fact I can almost guarantee the democrats manufactured the collusion charge (and in reality, ANY accusation would have done) so they could launch their Special Counsel, knowing Mueller would not find anything but also knowing he WOULD vex Trump with all the “other” captures he accomplished and also believing strongly that Trump, himself, would very likely commit some criminal act, like obstruction of justice, in his resistance to cooperate. Of course, now all they have to do is prove it. |

I agree somewhat that you could obstruct out of defensive tactics in protecting yourself. One slip up or contradiction could be considered getting in the way. This entire thing was predicated on this. Its the old you get pulled over for speeding yet the officer can't provide the reading on a speed gun. However he sees a bottle of pills on your front seat but you can't find the prescription and you try and explain what they are and how you got them but in your story you mention the wrong pharmacy so the cop has you get out of the car. The cop now finds your tax returns in looking on the back seat and rides through them noticing a big deduction for charities. You get my point here right.... They knew somewhere some how in this high stakes game they would find something and that something would be red meat for the media to destroy Trumps credibility as a person and it never mattered if it was collusion or a tax return. It was a witch hunt. Plain and simple.

The problem for the Dems is that obstruction never happened, just like "collusion." If Mueller and his $25M legal team couldn't prove it, Jerry Nadler ain't gonna do it.
It didn't happen and trying to assert obstruction in the investigation of a non-existent crime won't fly politically with the majority of Americans. Impeachment would blow up in the Dems' face and likely strengthen Trump's chances for re-election, which are already pretty good.
And if you've observed the Left over the past three years, this is exactly why they will do it anyway.
