Luca, with as many kids transferring every year as there are now, and with their parents sharing stories and information without any constraints, the common knowledge about which high schools ensure their athletes get good grades with minimal effort is almost ubiquitous. While some of their defenders will deny it, the top football school in the L.A. City Section and a Catholic high school in Bellflower are widely known to be among the worst offenders.

As MDDad said, there's not much credible stock to be had in the preseason, and even early season ratings. By game 5, they're getting close.
By the end of the year, it's FAR & AWAY the best measurement of where the schools all slot.
And you're on to something with Lawndale. Word is, you'll be seeing some Gauchos dressed as Cardinals come playoff time this year.

Damn. Narbonne”s whole team is in the top 100. Didn’t t their coach get his walking papers? They should have lost, maybe did I can’t remember, lost to poly last year. Surprised there hasn’t been a mass exodus. CDM has three at least. I didn’t see many other local kids in there besides MD guys and Caine Savage from Western.

By the end of the year, it's FAR & AWAY the best measurement of where the schools all slot. Wait. So, you mean that by the end of the season we'll have a better idea what the best teams are? Damn, Bick, that's why we pay you the big bucks...........................................Luca

I meant it was the best barometer for assigning divisions at the end of the year instead of the current exercise in convolution. You didn't pick that up??

My guesses at the Preseason top 10 in the OC. 1. MD 2. JSerra 3. MV 4. LH 5. Servite 6. CDM 7. O Lu 8. SC 9. SM 10. Ed/LA Others: YL, Tesoro, VP, SJH, Any dark horses or glaring omissions? So this where all the degenerates are now,,,,,, my my take on top 10,,,,,as seen live or on film from last season, and what I’ve seen in spring..... 1. MD 2. JSERRA 3/4. LH (have seen them this spring,,,,,and are LO-DID! 3/4. MV (haven’t seen, just based on history) 5. CDM ( loaded with skills as noted, but same issues for OL/DL.... return a very experienced senior heavy team... 6-Infinity in no particular order....more commentary than anything SERVITE- youngsters OLU- Lost all the 5* guys to graduation or transfer,,,,, should still solid SC- talent wise, not jaw dropping other than JR RB and TE....but will be well coached SM- new coach, seems to be recruiting well,,,,, OL/DL questions? LA- returning QB, RB,,,,,and especially the NG(watchout CDM) Edi- returns QB and 4 of 5 OL,,,, lost good LB corps Tesoro- should be solid as usual on OL/DL,,,,,well coached SJH- still have Billy Joe’s kid, prob best FB player in OC,,,, after that, uhhhh...... VP- QB from FV(and a few other schools), Ancich recruits like a Trinity team, so there is that..... YL- Bailey gets a lot out of his limited talent..... Battle at the Beach this Saturday,,,,,SERVITE-Edison front field, first game 9am.... bring your $5 for parking.....

O.C.F looks about right on the top 5 and everyone else. I thought last years 5-15 were pretty similar teams. Many beat each other.

And the monarchs and braves start at the top of the heap again.
Cen10 #13 JSerra #40 Olu #44 (surprised?) Narbonne #48 (I'll take the unders) Oaks Chr #54 Mission Viejo #71 Sierra Canyon #90
There's your open playoffs minus Narbonne... and Olu.
