Since I'm a track and field guy, I assume this is also the same family that produced Annie St. Geme, one of the great high school distance runners in county history? She still has the 4th fastest time ever in the 1,600 meters, and the 6th fastest in the 3,200. Correct, Annie inherited her mom's long distance genes (Ceci was a world class distance runner). Another "small world" note, Annie got married a couple years back to Garrett Beck, who played WR & DB for Tesoro's 2005 CIF championship team. My son was one of his teammates, so when Ceci asked me if I knew Garrett, it was a yes. Garrett got more playing time at WR that year than originally anticipated because that was when Scotty McKnight got suspended midway through the season (the Tesoro Two incident). |

I understand SJ Bosco lost to Defending State Bowl II-AA Champion Grace Bretheran.I told ya'll last year about Grace Brethren, they ended up #11 in state in the final Maxpreps rankings. Yet another private (Sierra Canyon) that snatch a CIF Championship from CDM.....  Grace has the making of a legit sports school in the future. Amazing how fast they can throw a program together under this model. After a two hour drive from the OC these guys met us at the gate.......,   |

NFHS has released the official version of the description of the new rules and the 2019 Points of Emphasis. See attached.
Plays of the Week - some instructional video I use that's open to the public. Sometimes not OC games but we use the film for breaking down mechanics and rulings. Some good explanations for calls, positioning, etc.

Like and don't like this attention. Let's hope Coach Thomas helps this young man stay humble. Too many egos hurt the program in the five years he was away.

Credo, looking forward to seeing what T-Mac can do as he has the size at a young age to really be something here in the OC and beyond. MDDad, can you link me again to those hs football record links, county (if you don't just use CIFSS and delete/remove/omit non oc players), (Cal-Hi is a pay site), CIF-SS and state....., J. Hump. has to be knocking on County, SS and state receiveing records.

Sorry, SK. Since the Register went in the crapper, the only decent sources are Calhisports and the CIF. And neither of those groups have updated their records to include the 2018 season. What the hell, it's only been five months.

Yup astonishing a body like CIF can't update simple stats in over 5 months. I see nothing from last season included yet. And if Cal Hi hasn't updated and thats a pay site then those paying are wasting their dollars.

It takes 5 months to figure out new divisions each year. This is something that should take an hour at the most.

The CIF office in Los Alamitos comprises secretaries, bureaucrats, ex-teachers and ex-school administrators. There's not a rocket scientist or brain surgeon in the bunch. That's why things that should take an hour take half a year.

This is really good stuff - love the video series. Nice to see the movement to making the numbers more visible. Don't get why it'll take until 2024 to adopt clearly contrasting colors. On the weather delays, they missed the part where the home team is responsible for deciding the time and venue of a make-up game should a game be suspended. |
