Looks like the Griffins landed the "next Bosco QB". Imagine that. Who's that?

Old news! Is it so he can play as a freshman and get some reps on a field then transfer back to SJB?

Not old news here.
I don't see him beating out the current starter, but he would likely get some reps. If the ultimate destination is Bosco, this would be an odd way to go about it. Tuition and religion notwithstanding, a 30-45 minute daily commute each way to an all boys school might not be as appealing as it once was...especially when you consider Garden Grove borders Los Alamitos. Clearly, it's not necessary to play in the Trinity league to get D1 offers. And with Bosco and MD desirous of playing for a mythical "national championship", the margin of error is much more narrow, and there will almost always be someone ready and able to take your spot should you falter on the field.
All that said, I suppose anything is possible.

Luca, what would you prefer we do instead? .... Do you have another topic in mind? Faulkner? Shakespeare? I don't know. Maybe we could start a reading circle or book club. We could get together every Friday night during the football season and compare our interpretations ofincomprehensibly symbolic passages so we wouldn't have to discuss how many high schools Shazaam "Z-Dog" Washington has attended or how the new QB travels 310 miles to high school every day. I'm probably just pissed because the parochial game has become so corrupted that it's just not that interesting anymore . I'm going to have to find something to do on Friday nights from now on..................................Luca

Luca, if you think a thread about Faulkner or Shakespeare would generate a lengthy discussion, I say go for it. But don't be surprised if you're sorely disappointed.
And the last ten books I've read are:
Astrophysics For People In A Hurry by Neil deGrasse Tyson When Breath Becomes Air by Dr. Paul Kalanithi Between The World And Me by Ta-Nehisi Coates Hillbilly Elegy by J.D. Vance (in process, only half done) Killing The Rising Sun by Bill O'Reilly (yes, when I want something totally lightweight and mindless, I read O'Reilly) The Wright Brothers by David McCullough Being Mortal by Dr. Atul Gawande The Greatest Generation by Tom Brokaw (for the third time) Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand David And Goliath by Malcolm Gladwell (yes, what a coincidence)
We could start a reading circle discussion about any of them, but I really don't think it would gain much traction.
The bottom line is that most people really are more interested in how many high schools Shazaam Washington (or Titus Toler) has been to than in any of those more esoteric topics. And yes, high school football has turned into a pile of shit, or at least become much more like the college game, but judging by posters' comments, it's still one of the more interesting piles of shit in town.

Again, it took five months to come with those rankings, and in all that time nobody had the ability to see those kinds of obvious blunders? The whole thing is laughable. Pointing the clear error out to CIF wasn't met with the acceptance I expected. While it won't make much difference at the high end of the D1 level, I believe it will have some teams in the wrong division at the lower levels - especially those with small gaps between divisions. There's less than a 0.2 point gap between the top 2 team in D3 and the bottom team in D1/2, for example.

Not officially. But it's pretty clear that at the end of the regular season, 4-7 Bishop Diego from D4, would not have the top 2018 Calpreps rating in the section over MD & SJB.
There's so many obvious errors in that column.

When it comes to using math to determine divisional placement, the entire CIF office should just pull a Jeff Sessions and recuse themselves. Apparently copying the power ratings from Calpreps and pasting them into a single spreadsheet column is beyond their technical abilities.

Just for the hell of it, I had my friend run the Southern Section schools through our model, with the qualifier being that 2018 counts twice as much as 2017. These are our results:
Division 1 & 2
1. Mater Dei 2. St. John Bosco 3. Corona Centennial 4. Oaks Christian 5. Mission Viejo 6. JSerra 7. Upland 8. Bishop Amat
9. Orange Lutheran 10. Grace Brethren 11. Rancho Verde 12. Chaminade 13. Cajon 14. Calabasas 15. Norco 16. Servite 17. Santa Margarita 18. Valencia 19. Rancho Cucamonga 20. Sierra Canyon 21. San Clemente 22. Long Beach Poly 23. Gardena Serra 24. Corona del Mar (sorry, SK80)
Division 3
1. Notre Dame 2. Heritage 3. Lawndale 4. Westlake 5. Vista Murrieta 6. Los Alamitos 7. Capistrano Valley 8. Alemany 9. Villa Park 10. Tesoro 11. Citrus Hill 12. Moorpark 13. Cathedral 14. La Habra 15. Murrieta Valley 16. Edison 17. Aquinas 18. Paraclete
And the whole exercise for all 385 schools took about three hours, not five freakin' months.
