Think we have all agreed and understand what these competitions prove or do not prove, I will say if MV is even in the game against MD and SJB in strength and weight compition that should bode well that they will be tough on a high school football field in the trenches. I think with the new era there has been a lot of speculation of which way or what direction the MV program will go.

I agree, SK. I've said since at least 2015 that Mission Viejo is one of the top four or five programs in Southern California, which always made it so silly when people (including Coach Bob Johnson) contended they should be placed in a lower division. One of the primary reasons for their stay in that top four or five is that they continue to produce very good linemen. I think the rest of the South Coast League can attest to that.

@bick are we doing just one pre season polling? Can we change as the next summer weeks pass...? I think one makes sense. July 21 - next Sunday is the deadline for the vote. 12 noon sound like a good deadline? Wondering if there would be an interest in CIF or Top 25 rankings (like Sondheimer's) too. I think thru D3 would be plenty for me to stay on top of. |

Villa park has no passing game. They must be good on defense and be able to run the ball. QB did nothing in the sunset and they got beat in passing league by inferior opponents.

VP has solid coaching under Ancich, they seem to always play “Nasty.” Top 10? Not this year...San Clemente, Tesoro would both beat VP IMHO...

HSFA has Orange Lutheran in the West Region Top 25, but not Servite? Has OLU not lost all their top skill players to graduation/transfer? Who's their QB and who's he going to throw to?
Servite, while on the rise, is still unproven, so I don't begrudge them being left off the rankings. That being said, I can't see OLU justifying that high of a preseason ranking. In any case, we'll settle this on November 1.

Perhaps I am a bit thick in the head, but bear with me:
If we are submitting a preseason OC Top Ten, what is our submission being compared to? Is this a weekly competition as the season progresses? I'm just not clear on how this is supposed to work.

It's our panel of "experts" compared to OC Varsity, or others if we want to expand to So Cal top 25 like Sondheimer does.
