It's our panel of "experts" compared to OC Varsity, or others if we want to expand to So Cal top 25 like Sondheimer does. Are we going to pick select games as well?

I helped JQP run the OCC football pool the last three years, so maybe I can do it. But I have an alternative format that is more challenging than just picking winners. When the time comes.

That would be great, MDD. What's the format?
Was also thinking a Survivor Pool might be fun. Stick to Div 1-3 to make it a little easier?

That would be great, MDD. What's the format? My feeling is that anybody with a pulse can pick the winner 75% of the time. So I propose a format that's used in a pool where my son works in the E.R. of a local hospital. You get 30 points for picking a game right, but then you deduct a point for every point you are off the actual spread. For example, You pick Mater Dei over Servite by 40, and Mater Dei wins by 50. You get 30 points for the win, and -10 for the spread, for a net of 20 points. Or you pick Servite over Mater Dei by 7, and Mater Dei still wins by 50. You get 0 points for missing the winner, and -57 for the spread, for a net of -57. (I tried to use as realistic an example as possible). It makes every game and every score important, and there can be wild changes in the leader board from week to week.

For those of us that put Santa Margarita in their top 10, the Eagles continue to suffer setbacks. BuckW has reported on TOB that the two brothers who transferred in from Bakersfield, have gone back to Bakersfield. He reports that the senior would have been unable to fulfill SMCHS's requirements for graduation.

Less than 20 hours to get your preseason OC top 10 ballot cast or amended.

WTF MD #1
Here are my "OC TOP 10" ~
#1 Mater Dei (I'll wing it here!) #2 JSerra (By a slimmer margin (cuz they Trinity) over #3 from what I saw at CDM/JS scrimmage and 7v7 @ MV yesterday) #3 Mission Viejo (were a possession away from making the 7v7 MV Finals and WON the Lineman Comp against MD & Bosco) #4 CDM (I simply know this team, they were stellar yesterday at MV 7v7 with 10 returners on offense led by a SR. Elite 11 QB and arguably the best WR and TE in the county.) #5 Servite (I think this Trinity teams is ascending and they played extremely well at MV 7v7. They matched SJB and had CDM in a dogfight. The Soph QB has a rifle) #6 La Habra (I would have had them in my #5 positions before MV 7v7) #7 OLU (Putting here by league default) #8 Los Alamitos (Perennial Sunset and OC power w/ a big public program) #9 VP (Not sure what is going on here post Piferi. Dan has them at #6? #Hmmm) #10 SM (A lot of changes here who knows.)
So whom is on the OC bubble...? San Clemente? Edison? SJH?
@bick are we doing just one pre season polling? Can we change as the next summer weeks pass...? @bick Revised OC TOP 10 by SK80 Here are my "OC TOP 10" ~ #1 Mater Dei (I'll wing it here!) #2 JSerra (By a slimmer margin (cuz they Trinity) over #3 from what I saw at CDM/JS scrimmage and 7v7 @ MV yesterday) #3 Mission Viejo (were a possession away from making the 7v7 MV Finals and WON the Lineman Comp against MD & Bosco) #4 CDM (I simply know this team, they were stellar yesterday at MV 7v7 with 10 returners on offense led by a SR.
