Watch out California! This is headed your way. A Police “reform” legislation has just passed both Illinois legislative bodies and sits on Jabba the Hut’s (our governor’s) desk: He has hailed it as landmark legislation and is expected to sign it. What will it do, you ask? Remember those Acme anvils that were always dropping on someone's head in those old Bugs Bunny and Roadrunner cartoons? Illinois and California are like two of those anvils that someone has dropped in the Grand Canyon and it's a race to see who can hit bottom first. What's stupefying is that there are so many people who think this crap is sound, progressive policy.

Another thought on California: Everyone seems excited about the possibility of recalling Gavin Newsom. But think about it for a minute.
First, Democratic voters outnumber Republicans in this state by almost two to one. If Newsom were recalled, some other left-wing nut-job would likely be voted in to take his place. So the net gain might be almost zero.
And second, Newsom can manipulate the recall election as he wants. For example, what's to stop him from doing this: A week before the election he calls a major news conference in evening prime time. Every station in the state covers it live. He comes on the screen and says, "It is with great relief and happiness that I can announce that the science now proves that we can reopen the state and its economy. All businesses may reopen tomorrow morning, and all citizens are free to leave their homes and travel as they please. We only ask that the sick and elderly continue to wear masks. It is only through the great leadership demonstrated by my office, and the cooperation and sacrifice of all our citizens and residents, that we have achieved this remarkable milestone. I thank you all."
Those who love him will continue to love him, and those that hate him will continue to wish him dead. The difference is that millions of people in the middle will see him as some kind of Messiah and vote to keep him in office. A week after the election is over an he has won, he can shut the state down again with only a two-week spike in cases as the result.

I don’t think you’ll have to recall him.
Harris just resigned her senate seat. I will not be surprised if Newsom appoints himself the replacement.

With reckless abandon, California continues down the same path.... MORE TAXES! Did these people not witness BIG business fleeing the state in 2020? Millionaire’s Tax Bill Would Create Additional Tax on CA Millionaires AB 1253 to tax additional 1% for income over $1 million, 3% over $2 million, 3.5% over $5 million
On March 24, Assembly Members Miguel Santiago, Lorena Gonzalez, Ash Kalra, Alex Lee, Wendy Carrillo, Reggie Jones-Sawyer, and Buffy Wicks amended Assembly Bill 1253 to create an additional tax on millionaires. The bill would add Section 17044 to the Revenue and Taxation Code.
Section One of the bill would add Section 17044 to provide that, for each taxable year beginning on or after January 1, 2021 an additional tax as follows:
1% for income over $1 million, but not over $2 million 3% for income over $2 million, but not over $5 million 3.5% for income over $5 million

Gotta love our elected leaders in California.... Bill would force California stores to sell gender fluid clothes Bill would force California stores to sell gender fluid clothes From Greg Burt
SACRAMENTO – Gender-fluid clothing entrepreneur Rob Smith opened the world’s first gender-free store in New York three years ago with an ambitious goal to spread his non-binary message and clothes into every retail space around the world.
But this LGBTQ activist fashion designer has run into a problem. He can’t seem to get big-box retailers in the United States to display his “The Phluid Project” line of clothes into their brick-and-mortar stores as much as he would like.
For more independent news, see our homepage at PressCalifornia.com.
Under the guise of ridding big box stores of harmful gender stereotypes, Smith convinced the California Legislative LGBT Caucus Chair Evan Low (D-San Jose) to introduce a bill to punish companies with fines if they don’t make room for the kind of products Smith sells.
Smith’s bill has easily passed through two Assembly committees with a hearing in the Assembly Appropriations Committee set for Wednesday.
