Think of how much scarier that would be, with a Supreme Court consisting of three conservatives and six "progressive" justices, which we would now have if Trump had lost. And...no sooner had I typed the above post, I heard the SCOTUS refused to take up a case against a Pennsylvania school district that had accommodated transgender students demands to use the bathroom of the gender they identify with. The suit was by conservative Christian groups backing students who felt embarrassed and confused by the transgender students in their locker room. One was even graded lower in P.E. class for refusing to change clothes in the locker room. The good news is that this doesn't set a national legal precedent. Perhaps the justices were waiting for a more substantial case. I think that is it. They also upheld the ban a lower court had put on a law that proscribed an abortion procedure by (also) refusing to take up the case. Justice Thomas said in a concurrent opinion [SCOTUS] isn’t taking up this issue today, but we cannot avoid it forever. seems to me this court is biding it’s time, waiting for “the” right case (or cases).

Modern liberalism is actually built on a deep disdain for women. For 50+ years it has ceaselessly promoted turning women into sex objects, encouraging them to pump their bodies full of hormones to render them infertile and thus always available for uncommitted sex, and then when they get pregnant (surprise!) to kill their unborn children in the name of freedom. And to top it off they now want actual men to take over their sports. But Christian conservatives, who largely oppose all of this, are the patriarchal misogynists who have declared a War on Women? Got it.
Thanks, liberals.

I had to return an item to a local department store yesterday, and the person serving me at the returns counter was a rather large "woman". She had beautiful long reddish hair and impeccable makeup. But she also had very hairy arms, a five o'clock shadow, no breasts, a tuft of chest chair coming out at the top of her blouse, and a voice like Darth Vader. I don't know if this was a transgender or just a transvestite, and I really didn't care. My only thought was WTF is going on in this country.

Caster Semenya is a biological female with hyperandrogenism, which is naturally occurring excess levels of testosterone.
I think whatever agency that oversees track competition, is using testosterone levels as the metric to determine whether an athlete can compete in women's sports.
T-level threshold seems to be the correct metric.

T-level threshold seems to be the correct metric. No, if her condition is natural rather than chemically induced, then using testosterone levels for determining her eligibility is absolutely the wrong metric. She's no different than WNBA players who are naturally taller than their opponents, fat chicks who are naturally stronger weightlifters and shotputters than scrawny chicks, or Kenyan distance runners who grow up at much higher altitudes resulting in more efficient oxygen-exchange capabilities. Caster Semenya is an XX woman with a glandular abnormality. Craig Telfer is an XY man disguised in a woman's track suit.

I'm pretty sure the rub here is that women have figured out that they can artificially increase their testosterone level to gain an advantage. Not sure if there's a mechanism that can differentiate between naturally occurring and artificially induced.

On the flip slide, there's a man who has an unusually low level of testosterone level who is competing in a totally different field, though it doesn't seem to be working very well for him. His name is Beto O'Rourke.

I'm pretty sure the rub here is that women have figured out that they can artificially increase their testosterone level to gain an advantage. Not sure if there's a mechanism that can differentiate between naturally occurring and artificially induced. So are you proposing that Semenya not be allowed to compete with other women? Must she compete with men, or not compete at all? And Credo facetiously raises another point. Should men with abnormally low levels of testosterone be allowed to compete against women? Should Beto O'Rourke run against Allyson Felix? It's also extremely difficult to determine if tall athletes naturally or artificially have more HGH or not. Should we ban women over six feet tall from the WNBA? My point is merely that it gets very sticky when we start to split hairs like this, especially for naturally occurring outliers. If seems that any person with XX chromosomes should be allowed to compete as a women, unless it's proven that they have taken performance-enhancing drugs or otherwise blood-doped. So Semenya is in, and Telfer is out, and I don't give a rat's ass what he identifies or dresses as.

If Semenya is simply a naturally occurring outlier (like any other genetic outlier) then she should be allowed to compete with all XXers without interference.
Robert Francis O'Rourke (a Beto-male) should also be allowed to compete with his fellow XYers, just for sheer entertainment value.

Beto is competing against about twenty of his fellow XYers...for the nomination. And just as might happen in a one-mile race, he's starting to fall farther and farther behind.

Would need a doctor to weigh in on whether or not testosterone level detection methods can differentiate between naturally occurring, and artificially enhanced.
You would agree the artificially enhanced women should not be allowed to compete, right?
Assuming for the sake of argument you can't really tell, how would you then deal with it?
