Boys, competing as girls, set a "girls" state indoor record in the 55-meter dash. This is clearly madness, which even Martina Navratilova (hardly a conservative) recently decried. Yet today this has became accepted orthodoxy on the Left, from which no dissent is allowed, lest one be called a "bigot." In a way there's something positive here: we've become so prosperous and free from want as a nation that we have the time and freedom to indulge in fantasies such as this. Still sad--and not a compassionate response to anyone suffering from such a delusion.
I don't think it's happened yet, but the fit is going to hit the shan when the first of these young men pretending to be girls gets a college scholarship to compete in girls' sports. The radical feminists and Title IX champions may actually make common cause with social conservatives to push back against this craziness.

This adds to the pile of nonsense that has me leaning really hard as a proponent of home-schooling. My grandkids are being taught to accept this crap. Sorry, but this is so far left of ridiculous it's coming around from the right side.

There is some delicious irony in that feminism has finally paved the way for male domination.

I'm sorry, but I just don't get it. If a guy thinks he's Napoleon Bonaparte, we call him mentally ill and treat him as a patient. If a guy thinks he's a dog, we call him mentally ill and treat him as a patient. But if a guy thinks he's a girl, we invent an entirely no gender for him and let him break girls track records. What the hell is going on in this country?

Ben Shapiro states the issue very well in this article from National Review with: Gender “dysphoria” is a mental illness and should be treated by medical professionals. As long as we cave to the demands of these radicals who insist we must accept their differences, these mentally ill will not receive treatment. Further, in my personal value system, transgenders pose the issue that God made a mistake: If they are “normal” then God simply put a female in a males body and vice versa. A song, Mistakes, by Melody Noel, sums my belief well:

This will all end up in the courts very soon. Tranny not getting a college scholarship after being high school state champion or great girl softball player missing out on college scholarship as tranny gets it. Then we will start seeing women pro soccer, basketball, golf and tennis. We don't need to get into this battle. University V LGBTQWXYZ V feminist.

The Olympics already dealt with this over a decade ago, back when Russian men who still knew they were men trying to compete as women...
Now, because these men want us to believe THEY believe themselves to be women, we’re just supposed to shrug and say “m’O.K., whatever?
I don’t think so.

On the contrary, I think this is a battle we should get into. If men are allowed to play women's soccer, basketball, golf and tennis because they feel like women, and they dominate those sports, then this whole leftist silliness will be brought to a head.

Women's golf, WNBA and college softball is full of lesbians. Let the lesbians push this in the courts. I say keep our power dry for our fight to come.

I was a little hesitant to read this thread when I saw the title "The fantasy of transgenderism" introduced by a guy from an all boys high school. But my curiosity got the better of me and it's not actually what I feared it was.
Sometimes seemingly fatuous social issues pop up and you think to yourself, "They can't be serious" and assume it will all blow over. But sometimes it doesn't, and this issue is one of those.
Just when I thought it couldn't get any more frivolous, I read an advertisement for a medical conference regarding transgender and "gender fluid" individuals, which I suppose refers to individuals who wake up each morning and decide what gender they would like to be that day.
Seriously? You can't even parody these ideas because they're already more ridiculous than anything you could imagine on your own. I don't know why Elizabeth Warren even bothered to defend herself against false claims of being an American Indian when all she had to say was that she "identified" as one. Then everything would have been cool and she'd even be considered impressively woke.

There is an apparent, and odd duality in a liberal mind that allows for individual gender preference, but not individual minority status preference. i offer as evidence of the disallowance of personal minority preference, Elizabeth Warren, whom you’ve already mentioned: She has been excoriated by both sides for her claim that she is 1/1027th American Indian. And who in the U.S. has not been awed at the outrageous claim by Rachel Dolezal identifying as. Black woman... which, to me, just shows how ridulois their whole argument has become. As you say, WHY NOT? Which is another way of asking, where do we draw the line?

When Martina Navratilova gets bounced from an LGBT advisory role, Houston... we've got a problem.
It's incredible that the major news outlets tacitly approve of this phenomenon.

I read on NBC News that is referenced in that tweet. It focuses on the dust-up caused by Martina Navratilova’s OP-ED in last week’s Sunday London Times. In it, she said: Now here is the important part: Rachel McKinnon, a transgender Canadian track cyclist who in October won a world championship sprint event for women of ages 35 to 44, took exception to Navratilovas comments, but NOT to the part about transgenders “cheating.”: The part he takes exception to is irrelevant to the point Navratilova made. Who cares if any such thing “will ever happen?” We see this same, lame argument style from liberal zealots everywhere: They seem to believe, if they can turn the topic being debated to something they can more easily argue, they win... and if they can manage to tack on an accusation using the “phobic” part, we’ll so much the better. Navratilova’s comment was and is, transgender women have an unfair competitive advantage over biological women <period> Apparently, no one can argue with that.
