Mater Dei will issue summer gear this Saturday and start conditioning drills next Monday. I'll take that Roll doesn't care what Fauci said....
That's probably a safe assumption. I think nobody with even one testicle cares anymore what Fauci says.

I don't think Fauci should be fired, as he has represented the 100% clinical position without regard to any other factors. That's his job, and he had to do it with information that changed and often contradicted itself by the hour. Someone should sneak up on him and shout "Boo!" so that he slinks back into his burrow like a frightened prairie dog and we never hear from him again.

"...nameless, unjustified terror which paralyzes needed efforts to convert retreat into advance." It's time to face everything and recover. There may be casualties along the way. But we cannot grow, or even exist, inside a bubble imho.

If the CDC is reporting that the number of infected is actually 10x more than we thought, doesn't that now drop the mortality rate below the flu?

In fact, what I'd like to do is turn it around on these sportswriters who keep clamoring for shutdown, and go with something like "How many grandparents is it OK to sacrifice this coming flu season?". In other words, there will NEVER be a "safe" time to re-engage in ANY group activity. No vaccine, cure or mask will ever be good enough.

As we wait for the CIF's guidelines on July 20, the smart money says:
(1) An 8-game season (3 preleague and 5 league) (2) A 4-game playoff (Div. 1 will go back to 16 teams from 8) (3) No regional or state bowl games
Of course, all that could be totally wrong.

I can live with that. The way numbers have trended the past week makes me worry about the prospects for the season. So any football that gets played this Fall, even at a reduced level, is great news to me.

And the death rate is 10 times lower for under-18 than for 18-29. Kids under 18 are about 1,000 times more likely to die of suicide or accidents than from COVID-19.

the sooner you guys accept the fact that the season isn't starting on time, or even happening, the less painful it will be.

Is it OK to voice our opposition by bringing up refuting facts? Or better to just take it in the ass without a whimper?
... Don't go there, RSM 😉

We start the season, play a couple games, and then a player tests positive. What should the next steps be Since there are still zero deaths in the 25 under age group in Orange County, treat it like the Flu. Tell the player to stay home until he feels better. We don't shutdown sports when a player gets the flu which has been more deadly for this age group.
