While I liked the Big O, I'd have Kobe there instead. With all due respect, Kobe Bryant couldn't carry Oscar Robertson's jockstrap. Oscar had 181 triple doubles, Kobe had 21. One year, Oscar averaged a triple double for the entire season, and that was as a point guard. |

I realize that catch by Willie Mays is still called "The Catch", but I've seen dozens of better ones over the years. As a long-suffering Angels fan, this one by CF Jim Edmonds may still be the best. It's the same as Willie's but has a swan dive added to it.

Wilie Mays had a good throwing arm. But compared to Roberto Clemente he had an amputated stump.

Kris Kristofferson dead at 88. Aside from Bob Dylan, I considered him the greatest songwriter of the last 60 years.
Besides being a great country artist Kris also was a published author, a Gold Gloves champion boxer, a Rhodes scholar at Oxford University, a captain in the U.S. Army, a military helicopter pilot, an Army Ranger, and a movie star. And he died in Hana, Maui, one of the most beautiful places on earth. He had a full life well-lived.
