Tucker Carlson showed a couple of clips tonight of davidsf's Governor Pritzker in Illinois, speaking down to the peasants of the state on the wisdom of his lockdown orders. What a thug and an ass that guy is. He makes Gavin Newsom look almost reasonable by comparison. Yes, he does... but in Newsom’s defense, #2 does try harder... our Governor asked the Federal Government for a bailout of our public employees pension fund (which they’ve been raping for decades and which is billions in the hole). Fed said “no.” a week later, he asked for a bailout of the state which is even further in the hole, multiple billions after years of refusing to reign in spending. Fed said “hell no.” Not one to let a good crisis go to waste, yesterday, he asked for $80 million to (this is great) raise a health army to combat COVID-19... This guy is seriously delusional. When asked why his wife got to jet around the country instead of sheltering at home, he took umbrage at being asked, said “family is off limits” and then told the reporter who asked his handling of COVID-19 doesn’t involve his family. |

This is not going to end well for Ms. Lightfoot. In a more sensible time she would have been ridden out of town for this kind of statement.
Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot announced on Saturday that she is instructing the police superintendent to cite, arrest and jail all non-compliant residents who permit gatherings and parties in their residence. Failing to comply with the stay-at-home orders and maintain social distancing will no longer be met with a warning.
Police are authorized to deliver citations, conduct immediate arrests and potentially jail any non-compliant resident in the city of Chicago.
“This is how it is going to be: We will shut you down, we will cite you, and if we need to, we will arrest you and we will take you to jail,” Mayor Lightfoot said. “If you act like a criminal, and if you violate the law, and if you refuse to do what is necessary to save lives in this city in the middle of a pandemic we will take you to jail, period.”

Chicago, ICYMI, has now also implemented the Nazi-esque “report your neighbor” plan that worked so well in New York. this is the mayor we always see at our Governor’s “daily COVID updates” because our Governor lives in Chicago and not in our Capitol, Springfield. During week 2 of our lockdown when hair salons were supposedly closed, this fool snuck out to get a hair cut.... and was busted by local media. |

The continuing saga of Illinois attempting to escape tyranny: last week, one of the lawsuits that was filed was by a small church claiming Pritzker, our mini emperor, transgressed their freedom of religion by proscribing the faithful gathering together in church. A district judge ruled yesterday (a Sunday) their lawsuit lacked merit, and they suffered no damages. Judge rules on church’s lawsuit
The judge is right: The Constitution DOESN’T say a religious service can infect anyone. In fact, the Constitution doesn’t say a lot of things! It does, however, say “... or prohibiting the free exercise thereof” and Pritzker is, very clearly, prohibiting the free exercise of religion. Judge also equates a church with a movie theater or a school, which is fine, but the Constitution doesn’t guarantee a right to see a movie! why does it smell to me like our Governor Prick-ster found a complicit federal judge who obviously does not understand the law? |

In the end, when you take into account the various social, economic, and medical consequences of the shutdowns, it will turn out that they led to more premature deaths than the virus itself.
