Newsom’s goals/requirements to move into phase 2 are literally impossible to meet for the larger cities: 1 - NO DEATHS for 14 days 2 - less than 1,000 infections per day for 14 days?

Coming to a home near you: As soon as the state implements the same measures for HIV, I'm all in.

New York City is now arresting black people for hanging out together too closely. Brooklyn is 35% black, but 87% of those arrested for "social distancing violations" were black. That sounds like disparate impact and/or racial profiling to me.
But Trump is a racist!

Covid19 rule #36 (courtesy of Gov Hair Gel) - You must wear a mask when you go out in public in order to avoid getting the virus or giving it to others. However, nail salons are not allowed to open, even if their employees and customers wear masks, because it has been shown that masks won't stop the spread of the virus.

Come to think of it, what's the difference?

That was the reason Newsom gave for not opening nail salons. He said they used masks prior to pandemic and still spread the virus.

That sounds like disparate impact and/or racial profiling to me. But Trump is a racist!Maybe black people in Brooklyn are doing just that, not worrying, caring enough about the guidelines. These kind of stats are only part of an equation, you need all parts to make a judgement. I will tell you this, I was sitting on the sea wall at Blackies (with my Jim Beam on the rocks) observing the beach goers in which 80% were SITTING, LAYING, SUNNING not MOVING. I can also attest that 80% were not locals and they were mainly minority..., my take is that they were not overly concerned with any guidelines, had Newport Beach been enforcing some of Newsoms orders there would have been a similar story to this one in Brooklyn....

Time for my shopping anecdote of the week.
I went to Target last Friday, and as usual, I got in the self-check-out line. I noticed every other register was turned off, so I asked the Target employee why that was. He said it was for social distancing. When I got to the register, I paced off the distance between mine and the closed one next to it. It was eight or nine feet. Meanwhile, the 12 or 15 people waiting in line to use the self-check were all about three or four feet apart. So how does any of this make any sense?

An addition to MDDad's story.
I went to Lowes on Friday, about 80 percent of the patrons were wearing masks. I was part of the 20 percent. While grabbing the last of the items I needed, I did one of those things where you breath in incorrectly and mess up your breathing, making you cough. I hacked once and then suddenly realized, if I coughed any more, there would be a lynch mob of Covid19 activists set upon me. I pushed my lips together, probably turning blue as I breathed through my nose & suppressed the needed coughs. Quickly through the self checkout & into my truck where I hacked myself back into proper breathing rhythm.
Being killed by a mob at Lowes would have been a lousy obiturary.

I've had chronic post nasal drip for nearly 2 decades now, so you can imagine what happens when it goes down the wrong pipe.
So I'm at a store the other day and start coughing up a lung, and some guy comes over to me with "shouldn't you be at home?" I told him I didn't think post nasal drip was contagious, but he could just step back away from me if he was worried about it.

I've had this thing for over a year now where once in the morning and once in the afternoon I get a terrible tickle in the back of my throat that makes me cough like a lunatic for a minute or two... and then it's gone. Naturally, it's happened a few times while I was at a store. Since I don't wear a mask, the looks of terror from the other shoppers when I start my fit is priceless. To take it a step further, I sometimes use my hands to feel my cheeks and forehead for a fever while they are watching. The reaction is better than anything on television, especially by the Asian women.
It's just too bad I can't fake diarrhea at the same time.

I went to Lowes's yesterday and today. My son and I were the only people in the store without a mask. We were two free men amidst a sea of sheep.

It's all political theater, no different from the policies of the TSA--like taking off our shoes at the airport--almost 20 years after 9/11.
