What did Newsom say about Trump today? I heard it was "nice."
It's reassuring that the gated roll-out was delivered by Birx and Fauci. For once, the media actually seemed to ask non partisan questions.

The momentum is already starting. The liberal governors can get with the program or face the wrath of their citizens.

So what's wrong with those willing to accept the risk of infection, being hit by a car, or struck by lightning, resume their lives, and the ones that want assurances, can stay at home and wear their hazmat suits in their safe space until they think the coast is clear?
Win - win?

Win - win? I was thinking that exact thought last night while driving home..., my thought on the road was that I am more likely to die tonight on my drive home than from COVID19, should i be stopped now by a state authority, hand them my keys as I am a liability to others and that authority is going to save me from myself by not driving? This entire event is the most bizarre one I have witnessed. By the way, I was scolded and shamed at Ralph's yesterday for touching one too many stems of grapes.

Bick and SK, I agree.
Every day I go for a power walk after breakfast, after lunch and after dinner, for a total of 4+ miles. I average over 13,000 steps a day, most of them outdoors. I go out at least twice a week to stores like Trader Joe's, Sprouts, Stater Brothers, Super King and Target. I visit both of my sons and their families once a week. And I have never once worn gloves or a face mask. I love life and I refuse to live it in terror.
I'd be curious at the practices of other forum members. Do you go out without fear? Do you wear a mask, or have you otherwise caved in to this bullshit campaign? How many people do you personally know who have caught this bug? (Every person I've asked has said, "Nobody.")

Bick and SK, I agree. It's pretty hard to ever disagree with SUNSET GUYS !!Every day I go for a power walk after breakfast, after lunch and after dinner, for a total of 4+ miles. We shop alike, the wife is strictly Trader Joe's and Target and I'm Stater Bros., Sprouts and Super King! Do you ever take POWER BARS on your POWER WALKS

How many people do you personally know who have caught this bug? (Every person I've asked has said, "Nobody.") NO FEAR at all. I am a bad person to be out becuz I scare other people due to my lack of fear..., I'm strictly sensible and use common sense with common courtesy. I have not worn a mask until the past two days when some stores implemented rules that you can not come in unless you do. I shop for my elderly mother at Gelsons in CDM and after nearly 50 years of patronage I was rejected at the door. I was pissed. Caved in? No way.. I walk the beaches and Newport has been cool about this as well. I'd be surfing if it were summer as I avoid the cold water these days. We have one friend whom lost her mother in NYC, she was in her 70's, many preexisting conditions she was in a dementia home as well.

It hasn't happened yet, but if a store did not allow me to enter because I was without a face mask, I would leave and likely never "patron" them again.
Last Monday morning I was shopping at Stater Brothers. As I entered the cereal aisle, there was a woman coming towards me about halfway down the aisle (middle-aged, Asian). When she saw I was not wearing a mask, she turned her shopping cart around and RAN in the other direction. I really think if I were that frightened, I'd put a bullet in my head.

The city of Irvine made it a “law” that patrons have to have masks to enter a store, otherwise the store will be closed.
If we are going to enforce those rules, you might as well make all stores essential...

So my Gelson's story if I didn't say was the first time they enforced it on me I almost balked but had to put my elderly dependent mother before myself (there are items there I can ONLY get at Gelson's), I reluctantly used a large paper towel that they could provide and held over my mouth, entered got what I needed and got out. I have not been back since. I now tell mom the hot bars are closed and the bakery is limited so sit tight! I do have a small shift in sentiment here that I had to work on a bit, trying to understand for instance what a checker at the counter encounters everyday. I know I could be brazen and just say if they are worried, concerned, scared for their health get another job. But they do come in contact with 100's a day and I am willing to sacrifice in face to face encounters enabling them to do their jobs. As for those whom run from you, they anger me, I have residents in my neighborhood that when they see me out front gardening they still step off the parkway, into the street and don't move back towards the sidewalk till they are next door.. that is if this safe! Mind you, even if they remained on the sidewalk they would be 20 or more feet away. It's psychotic.
