Apparently San Clemente did the same thing.

...I'd be curious at the practices of other forum members. Do you go out without fear? Do you wear a mask, or have you otherwise caved in to this bullshit campaign? How many people do you personally know who have caught this bug? (Every person I've asked has said, "Nobody.") - I have no fear going outside. In fact, I have refused to change my routine, been fishing every Saturday all through this. I don't wear a mask, but I have worn a buff (a bandanna like covering) not in fear of Covid19, but as protection from the sun (easier than applying sunscreen). I do that most sunny days if I'm out fishing for 8 or 9 hours, started well before Covid19 appeared.
- I have worn a mask & gloves at 3 customers homes. One was an overly paranoid lady who cleaned behind me as I worked, one was an ignorant lady who feared for the health of her grandchildren (she was under 60) and one was a family who had a couple of members who had pre-existing immune issues. All of the other appointments, approx 95% of my appointments, I don't wear a mask or gloves and people are fine with it (here in Orange County). I have had a half dozen customers choose to postpone an appointment as opposed to having me come back into their home while the stay at home order is in place.
- I don't know anyone who caught the bug and further, there has not been a single obituary in the Register where the cause of death was listed as COVID19. Most listed as natural causes, we need to shut down the economy to flatten the curve on all this death from natural causes!!

I think the proper spelling is with an "m". And if we're willing to put people under house arrest and destroy the economy to eliminate all COVID deaths, why aren't we also willing to lower the speed limit to one or two miles per hour to eliminate all deaths from automobile accidents?

At last look, yesterday I believe, there were 25 deaths attributed to COVID19. That is in a county of 3.1 MILLION people. Today we are at 28 deaths. Bless all whom have perished, however we need to know as well the make up or demographics of those whom have perished. My educated guess is that its mainly underlying health issues and mostly elderly. If this is fact it lends even more credence to the idea that our government, led by Dr.'s simply over reacted. I will say that I still believe the real initial fear was that this may be a bio-engineered or a possible bio-weapon and an aggression or act of war by China. The actions our government took were unprecedented and didn't mirror anything previous reactions.

Muffs are eaten, Buffs are worn. And please don't give the self appointed hall monitors any ideas on other things they can do to control our life. Look how long it took to finally dump the 55 mph speed limit after the brainiacs instituted it to try to force better gas mileage.

Speaking of freeway speed, the average traffic flow on the 91 in OC is right around 80 M-F during normal traffic hours.
On another note, one of our regular police customers in Fontana says the increase in domestic violence calls has about doubled since this shutdown.

And I have seen more red lights run in the last 2 weeks than I have in the previous 5 years.
Could it be that a large portion of those who don't listen to the state's stay at home orders are also the people who ignore traffic regulations?

We're all a bunch of scofflaws. Or in other words, men who are tired of being ordered around by a bunch of scolding women and feminized men.

I figure those are the guys with their scofflaw lurking just below the surface, but now that genre are fewer on the road, this little rebellion against “ the Man” comes creeping out.

Bick and SK, I agree. Every day I go for a power walk after breakfast, after lunch and after dinner, for a total of 4+ miles. I average over 13,000 steps a day, most of them outdoors. I go out at least twice a week to stores like Trader Joe's, Sprouts, Stater Brothers, Super King and Target. I visit both of my sons and their families once a week. And I have never once worn gloves or a face mask. I love life and I refuse to live it in terror. I'd be curious at the practices of other forum members. Do you go out without fear? Do you wear a mask, or have you otherwise caved in to this bullshit campaign? How many people do you personally know who have caught this bug? (Every person I've asked has said, "Nobody.") It's a little different for me. My county has only 35 cases reported, and 0 deaths. I have a dust mask for sanding but I've never worn it. I do plan to take it with me just in case I get refused entry somewhere. I have worn protective eye wear which protects the sides as well as the front. For the record, I am over 70, 50 pounds overweight, borderline diabetic, and have a history of asthma, although it hasn't bothered me for decades. I know no one anywhere who has the virus. The stated purpose of the quarantines was to flatten the curve so that the medical profession wouldn't be overwhelmed. We've done that. It's time to gradually open things up. A doctor once told my uncle that he'd have to give up smoking, booze, steaks, etc., etc., etc, if he wanted to go on living. He answered by saying, "Doc...That ain't living!" I heard a lady quoted as saying that at first, she was afraid of losing her life, but not anymore. Now she's afraid of losing the type of life she spent decades building.

@pf, what region do you live in again? With numbers like that is it suburban or rural?
I think we are going to be in yet another political quagmire. One in which again a divided nation will see yet another event from two perspectives. I think we have done a good job of isolating, it's been one month going on the next... I think those whom have had it their way, call it being lockdown or isolated or as many see it grows government over-reach, those whom have benefited from everyone staying home should take a moment and let others now do some things their way. Fair? If that means going to a beach stop harping about it. Don't go to the beach. That is your right, exercise it. If you think sitting on your couch all day with the windows closed and a mask on assures your survival, please do that! If I think a swim in the ocean is best for my survival, do not tell me its not because you deemed yourself a PHD, scientist and dictator of my life. Honestly you see my way as killing you and I see your way as killing me...

I agree that there are two sides again as always. The good thing is that the medical experts, Dr Fauci, and Dr Brix, are supporting Trump's plan to reopen in phases, and that has to be killing the Democrats who were counting on them disagreeing with Trump.

Amusing that you think it's trump's plan. I think trump is following the recommendations of the doctors, not the other way around.
