Colorado Gov. Jared Polis and Nevada Gov. Steve Sisolak said Monday they would join California, Oregon, and Washington in a Western States Pact that puts “science ahead of politics.” But politics, like science, can’t be easily ignored. Nevada has fewer than 5,000 cases and just 219 deaths, yet Sisolak has announced no plans to loosen his stay-at-home order despite protests across the state over the weekend calling on him to reopen. So the so-called Western States Pact between California, Oregon, Washington, Nevada, and Colorado is being touted as putting "science ahead of politics." Questions: 1. What exactly is "scientific" about making decisions about virus response policies that apply equally to different states with very different populations and terrains and urban/rural situations? Even within a single state, there's so much diversity in populations and density that policies that apply to the entire state make little sense. Why should Shasta or Inyo counties have the same policies as San Francisco or Los Angeles? 2. If this is truly a pact based on geographic region--and not "politics"--than why aren't Arizona, Utah, or Idaho included in this pact, since they are obviously part of the same region? Notice that the five states that are part of the pact all are states that voted for Hillary in 2016 and are also currently led by Democrat governors--and the states not included are just the opposite. I'm calling major B.S. on this pact. Like all Leftist Orwellian double-speak, the purported goal of anything is exactly the opposite of what it says. The Affordable Care Act made health care less affordable; and this pact is all political, and not "scientific" at all.

You've never heard of political science?
How's that for an oxymoron.

You realize there's a $600/week bonus that's been added on top of existing unemployment benefits for COVID-19 relief? We have a neighbor whose 23-year-old daughter is making more money on Coronavirus unemployment than when she was working. The idiocy (and malign purpose) of such policies is beyond description.

As a disclaimer, I hate going to the beach. I'll take Lake Mead or Powell over it any time. ya there are some things you just aren't cut out for RSM..., any wonder why all the animosity! No interest in some Brazilian homewrecker who blames her husbands teammates for a Super Bowl loss. I'll stick with 100% American. Plus, based on that picture, she probably has sand in her cooch. Maybe Tommy boy needs the extra friction, but I prefer sand free beavers.

So law abiding citizens wanting to exercise their right to walk freely on a beach will get arrested..? yet being a SEX OFFENDER now qualifies you for a GET OUT OF JAIL pass...? 7 High-Risk Sex Offenders Released As Part Of Orange County Jail Population Reduction losangeles.cbslocal.com/2020/04/29/7-high-risk-sex-offenders-released-orange-county-jail-population-reduction-coronavirus/
SANTA ANA (CBSLA) — Seven high-risk registered sex offenders were have been released months early in the statewide effort to reduce the jail population to slow the spread of coronavirus.
According to the Orange County District Attorney’s Office, each of the offenders have been charged with cutting off their monitors or tampering with their tracking devices to render them inoperable, after being released from jail for crimes ranging from indecent exposure to sexual battery to child molestation. They have also all repeatedly violated parole.
“These kinds of high-risk sex offenders are the most dangerous kind of criminal and the most likely to re-offend. They are doing everything they can to avoid detection by the parole officers assigned to monitor them so they can potentially commit additional sex offenses,” OC District Attorney Todd Spitzer said in a statement. “These are not the kind of people who should be getting a break".

Judge Christopher Murray of the Michigan Court of Claims: You rejected the lawsuit against your Governor Whitmer claiming Constitutional rights are not violated by stay-at-home orders or ban on in-state-travel. But IN YOUR opinion, you specifically state plaintiff’s Constitutional rights have been “temporarily harmed.” Just what do you think “violated” means?

This judge has been buffaloed into submission and fear, like most of the politicians and state officials in America. The media has generated such a level of hysteria so that any COVID-19 death that happens after the re-opening of any state or county will then blamed on the officials who allowed the re-opening. Just watch in the next week or so as many states end their stay-at-home orders. The media will start waving the bloody shirt as soon as someone dies in those places.

Based on seeing what I used to think were ostensibly intelligent adults walking around outside in masks, I have to believe this poll is accurate. People have been terrified into thinking this thing is the plague, and that anyone is liable to drop dead from COVID-19 unless they stay inside. It's madness.
However....once we see a few cracks in the damn, and a few brave (and sensible) souls start going back to normal life, the better part of the nation will not want to be left out.

Again we see the Republicans going back to work and the Democrats not... this is all about not having the economy going again to set up a shot at November...
