When it is pointed out that Blacks and Hispanics are arrested at a higher percentage than Whites or Asians, those who claim racism say that is a sign that police target those minorities. They dismiss the possibility that Blacks & Hispanics either commit more crimes or live in areas where more crimes are committed.
Fair enough.
However, time & again, when we see footage of looting & rioting, a substantial number of the people carrying out boxes of stuff are either Black or Hispanic. If the higher percentage of looters are Black & Hispanic, why would that not translate to other crimes? Are we suppose to believe that Blacks & Hispanics loot at higher percentages, but when it comes to crimes like theft, assault & murder, the trend reverts back to percentages equal to their population?

Once again, I think we are trying to make sense of something that makes no sense. It's like trying to critically analyze AOC's memoirs. How is stealing a 65" flat screen from a retail store properly protesting the killing of a black suspect by a white cop? I just don't see the link between the two.

I have been watching the looting happening in Santa Monica and the majority of looters are black and brown. There are Asians and whites as well, but in fewer numbers.

It is obvious that Blacks and Hispanics commit more crimes than other groups. The numbers prove it because their crimes far outweigh their percentage of the population.

Getting back to George Floyd’s cause of death. I was wrong that he was lying on his side, he was lying on his stomach, which could have interfered with his breathing.

I am wondering about Mr. Floyd’s cause of death. He was lying on his side with the officer’s knee pressing down on his neck. That would cause the blood flow to the cartoid artery to be shut off wouldn’t it? Doesn’t that interfere with the heart? Could that be the cause of Mr. Floyd’s death? Perhaps Luca can help out here? Sorry. Didn't see this until today. I haven't seen the video and don't want to . Putting sufficient pressure on either side of the neck can occlude the flow of the carotid artery on that side. If prolonged, that could be enough to cause a stroke. Applying pressure to the carotid artery also activates the parasympathetic nervous system which slows down the heart rate (you can stop an arrhythmia that way sometimes) but I wouldn't think it would be a cause of death in an otherwise healthy guy. My understanding is that the victim said that he couldn't breathe which means that the trachea may have been compressed with asphyxiation resulting................................Luca

Disclaimer: I am not condoning the actions of the officer, but read the probable cause affidavit... it indicates he might have had something in his blood system.
I’ll reserve judgement until I see 1) toxicology and 2) the body cam footage (I think it exists?)
More thoughts to come...

It was reported that he was on his stomach with his head turned to the side. Yes, Mr. Floyd did say he couldn’t breathe. Thanks for including the correct spelling of the carotid artery. lol

The family has asked Dr. Baden to do an independent autopsy because the initial autopsy found that he did not die of asphyxiation.

I haven't seen any evidence that Floyd was killed due to racism. I have seen a preponderance of evidence that Floyd was killed due to police brutality & malfeasance. In my opinion, the 2nd is actually worse than the 1st because police are given authority to enforce the law. When that authority is misused and a citizen is killed under the color of that authority, that begins a road to facism. After digesting this for a bit, I've concluded the cause of this action was the inability of those in the position of oversight to do their jobs. I think the key reason for organizations keeping bad actors in the workplace is the hurdles that unions have in place for dismissing them. You see it in every unionized business under the guise of worker protections, be it the NFL, teachers, airline workers, or the police. It's damn near impossible to rid yourself of a shitty employee with union representation. You think that cop with 10 prior complaints of police brutality would still be on the force if he wasn't represented by the union? Unions shield their members because they're paid by those members to do just that. Unions also are known to politically support a certain party on a regular basis. Follow the money.

Ya I see his tweets too and he is correct, anyone whom HATES Trump and then beats you silly because you LIKE or do not HATE Trump makes that a true crime acted out by HATE. Where is the media on that?

Read about the armed black group protesting at the Kentucky Derby yesterday, and noticed it was mostly peaceful. In this instance, guns may be keeping everyone in line. Makes me wonder if more visible guns would keep the mayhem antifa and BLM sorts from crossing the line. Nearly everywhere there has been citizen based armed "security" seems to have resulted in LESS damage.

Kind of a sidebar, regarding race and crime. I went down a rabbit hole on Youtube the other day, watching people taking action against porch pirates. One thing I noticed is how a high percentage of people who steal UPS & fedex deliveries off of porches are white women. Not that I was expecting to see any trend, a thief is a thief, but easily half of the videos had white woman as the criminals.
If that is true, if it is as statistically correct as most serial killers being white males, I wonder what the reason for it could be. I know women tend to shoplift more then men, it is a less confrontational crime as is swiping something off of a front stoop. It also seems like drugs are involved, those areas with meth problems have a higher preponderance of packages being stolen. That makes sense because the thief isn't interested on what is in the package, but rather the money she can get for it in order to buy drugs.
As for the racism part of it, maybe white woman are able to walk down the street without getting noticed compared to men or minorities. The lack of concern of their presence makes it easier for them to hit & run. Those men who stole did tend to drive up in vehicles, while most of the women were just walking.
