C-SPAN's Steve Scully was a former intern to Joe Biden and also worked as an assistant to--wait for it--Ted Kennedy. Good thing he was born with testicles; any woman with that employment record like that would likely be dead by now. Oh, and he also wrote an Anti-Trump Op-Ed for the NYT in 2016. I'm sure he'll display no bias..... Good job giving yourself an excuse why you'll lose the next debate as well. Worry not, trump will be able to show us all his well known people skills at the next debate...it's a town-hall type format...he'll be answering questions from real people...what could possibly go wrong for him there?

I think they should add the Libertarian VP Candidate to the next debate. Come on, at the very least, someone named “Spike Cohen” will be either a calming, mitigating influence, or a very entertaining interloper... but it is not right that the libertarians were not invited. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spike_Cohen

Looks like trump doesn't have the guts for another debate...what a crybaby. Trump refuses to participate in virtual debate on Oct. 15: ‘I’m not going to waste my time’WASHINGTON — The second presidential debate between President Donald Trump and Democratic nominee Joe Biden, scheduled for Oct. 15, will be held virtually, the bipartisan Commission on Presidential Debates said Thursday.
Minutes after the announcement, however, Trump said he would not participate.
“No I’m not going to waste my time on a virtual debate,” he said during an interview on the Fox Business channel. His campaign later said Trump will hold a rally that night instead.
Trump and his allies quickly claimed, without evidence, that the commission had made the change to favor Biden. A Biden campaign source told NBC News that the CPD made the decision independently.www.cnbc.com/2020/10/08/second-presidential-debate-between-trump-and-biden-on-oct-15-will-be-virtual.htmlI hope they go through with the debate without trump...it will make him look like a petulant child...which of course is what he is.

I was telling my wife this very idea earlier tonight. This is exactly how these debates should be handled. Now the Democrats would never agree to this because their candidates are never forced to publicly answer tough questions from the press and so they would be flustered and humiliated in such a format. Trump is under character assassination from the WH press corps every day, so it would be like a Sunday walk in the park for him.
The only difference I'd suggest is putting Mark Levin or Greg Jarret as the conservative moderator. Maybe Tucker Carlson.

Many on the left took nothing from the debate other than a fly landed on Mike Pence's head & hung out for about 2 minutes.
Well, thats what you get when Kamala Harris wears a skirt...

You really think there are a meaningful amount of voters who were undecided before the debate, that have been swayed one way because of it?

You really think there are a meaningful amount of voters who were undecided before the debate, that have been swayed one way because of it? I believe there is a couple percentage points of uneducated voters who have no political ideology. They just vote for the person who they think "will do a good job". I don't think those folks watch the debates, but rather, the see some of the highlights. I believe things said in those highlights or major gaffs can push these people one way or the other. For example, I have a brother-in-law who in 2016, declared that if Hillary was leading in the polls, he was going to vote for Trump, but if Trump was leading, he was going to vote for Hillary. His rationale was that he didn't want either candidate to win by alot and have a mandate. I think he was dropped as a child.

I’ve been noticing one of the main criticisms of Harris’ debate performance has been she was arrogant and condescending.
when I bring that up in an argument, however, liberals... and liberal women in particular... don’t even try to refute is. Instead, they rationalize it with “as a powerful black woman [sic], she has had to take a back seat to men all her life...” and similar.
From my perspective, that is a cop out. IMO, if she does not want to be perceived as an angry, selfish shrew, she should listen more, respond directly to questions put to her, stop interrupting, and stop name-calling.
what do you think?

Just ran across the meaning of kamala:
1. a powder from the capsules of an East Indian tree, Mallotus philippinensis, of the spurge family, used as a yellow dye and in medicine as an anthelmintic.
anthelmintic: of or relating to a substance capable of destroying or eliminating parasitic worms, especially human intestinal helminths.

You really think there are a meaningful amount of voters who were undecided before the debate, that have been swayed one way because of it? Great question. no, I do not believe the presidential... and especially not the VICE presidential debates sway anyone. Which, in my mind, raises the real question: Why do them at all? don’t get me wring, I know why the major networks stage them: They believe they are swaying voters, and they want to Savannah Guthrie the candidate they don’t like. but as a practical matter, I don’t see any benefit. But, then, I see no benefit to negative ads, either, although most swear they work, so what do I know.

I think debates do matter, unfortunately now in all the wrong ways. AN old school debate, one on one about the issues with little moderation would be or could be game changers. Now debates are simply run by one party to embarrass the other and gain traction and sway that way. How all this is done needs to stop immediately.
This year I do also believe the VP debate was important under the knowing it is very likely Harris would assume Joes chair should he frail out on the country. I think Pence did a great job at stopping her in her tracks. Had she done really well voters could bank on her as their back up to a Biden they are not so sure about.
Added note, it is swing voters, undecideds however small, No Party Affiliation voters that win elections for one or the other. This is why the two parties always try to appear more centrist than they really are come election time.
