Question, is that for lack of unifying leaders or simply a populous whom no longer wants to be unified? I think it's a combination of both.Who in your opinion the last unifying leader? You'd have to define "unifying". The last two presidents who won landslide elections were Ronald Reagan in 1984 and Richard Nixon in 1972, and I'd call them more polarizing than unifying. And better yet whom of any of the handful of real candidates at this point is a unifier? Nobody. We may be at the point of no return, it would seem to take at this point a catastrophic global event to bring this nation back together. I used to think the same thing. But we had a "catastrophic global event" in 2020 and 2021, and it only served to drive us farther apart.

I thought Bill Clinton was not a polarizing president. In fact, the first POTUS I recall that was particularly divisive was Obama. The rest seemed to play nice with the other side, at least overtly.

I think Tulsi Gabbard is the closest to being at least tolerated by both sides, but I don't think she's running.

I think Tulsi Gabbard is the closest to being at least tolerated by both sides, but I don't think she's running. Nobody's officially running yet, except Donald Trump...and he's running backwards. I can see the 2024 presidential debates now. Joe Biden in a wheelchair and attached to an oxygen tank, and Tulsi Gabbard in a string bikini. She would become the first candidate in history to sweep all 535 electoral votes. And then the left would scream she's illegitimate because she was born in Samoa and is a Hindu.

Joe Biden is a pathetic shell of a man. For 47 years, he's had no political convictions other than survival, and he certainly doesn't have any now that he's senile. His only value is that he is a willing, visible mouthpiece for those on the left who really determine policy and run the federal government, allowing them to remain safely behind the curtains and out of public scrutiny. It's a very sad and dangerous position we are finding ourselves in as a nation.

McCarthy call Trump for help with the speaker vote. Will it work?

I don't think so. Seems there's an even greater divide away from Trump.

McCarthy should call Dr. Oz to see what a Trump endorsement is worth.

Now THAT'S funny. He literally couldn't beat a turnip with his endorsement.
Really do need to move on from Trump.

There's no need to insult turnips, Bick. Honestly, with all due respect to mushbrains like Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, and with apologies to all stroke victims, John Fetterman has no business getting elected and serving as a national legislator. He is so clearly brain-damaged that he should bow out.
