I thought Bill Clinton was not a polarizing president. In fact, the first POTUS I recall that was particularly divisive was Obama. The rest seemed to play nice with the other side, at least overtly. Many of my friends believe Obama and his wife were the ones who really were divisive. Agree 100%. When Obama won, I put my emotions, convictions, beliefs aside and embraced that as a country we elected a man of color as President of the Untied States. I did this knowing I did not believe in his ideology or where he was potentially about to take the country. As a man of color he had the biggest opportunity in the history of the country to change racial relations, stigmas, conflicts, misunderstandings and so forth..., yet he became the "Divider in Chief". It just seems more and more no human is above divisiveness. Shame.
