If this doesn't divide us what does?

I got mixed feelings on that. I pledge and allegiance to God. Then Family. And perhaps the country unless there is election fraud on a grand scale. I certainly don't pledge an allegiance to Biden.
I really like Lou Dobbs BTW. I think the school board is doing for the wrong reason - they feel the US government is racist. Perhaps it is now, but racist against white people. And of course, they want God out of it. So for that reason, if I was on the board I would have kept the pledge.

I certainly don't pledge an allegiance to Biden. That seems like a rational, common-sense position. What troubles me is that there are millions and millions of people who pledge allegiance to Donald Trump. Not his party, or his policies, or what he stands for, but to the man. How is that anything but cultism?

I'll go a step farther, and say that IMHO that's one of the most inaccurate statements I've seen you make. Among the "millions and millions" who "pledge allegiance to Donald Trump," a substantial percentage of them do so because of his party's opposition to the lunacy of the leftist Democrat party, and because of his policies , and because of what he stands for, and despite his personality.

I think you would be hard pressed to find millions and millions of Trump cultists who do not also support his party or back and believe in his policies?

Every day on the radio, both Dan Bongino and Leo Terrell proclaim, "I'm not a Republican, I'm a Trump Republican." That's a statement of fealty and allegiance to a man, not a cause. It's not entirely dissimilar to those who were mesmerized by Jim Jones. If Trump were hit by a bus, they would have nowhere else to turn.
And there are millions like them. Sorry.

It's not entirely dissimilar to those who were mesmerized by Jim Jones. If Trump were hit by a bus, they would have nowhere else to turn. And there are millions like them. Sorry. Simply absurd, they would pivot, not simply cease to exist. "I'm not a Republican, I'm a Trump Republican" is a term or phrase used by conservatives to say I am not part of the GOP establishment or as Trump proclaimed, "The Swamp". I would also add for many the part of the political party labeled "Rino" or "Republican in name only". The frustration of these or this group of so called Republicans displays the ability to become part of the swamp or system. Trump was a Democrat, an Independent, not a party guy. He broke many a political mold and if you don't think so look no further than the political witch hunt by that swamp still going on today. So if you want to call it a Cult or Trump-ism then you are free to do so, or at least for now as we lose that freedom slowly courtesy of those whom dislike him.

Please do not speak for me. I do everything within my ethical, moral and legal rights. I take my obligation, duty, responsibility as a citizen of this country, county and city serious, as serious as a constituent ca be. I understand I am but one man, one citizen, one vote but to claim I do not do sh*t is grossly misstated. If I remember did you not sit out the Presidential vote in 2020? I will agree, to an extent, that the "Conservatives" of this country have allowed their opposition to be more aggressive, more assertive and to a point more corrupt to get what they need or to where they want to go. So to counter your belief above, what are you from this day forward going to do.... or not?

I don't mind considering myself a Trump Republican. Remember the saying: There isn't a dimes worth of difference between the Democrats and Republicans. I agreed with that Mitt, McCain, and other Republican Presidential candidates showed that. They were part of the swamp. My mom falls into the D and R realm. It is like supporting your favorite sports team. In politics, I don't care about the team, I care about what they do. Trump did great things. I'll call myself a Trump Republican. No problem. I don't just vote Republican because I vote for the home team.

Fine, guys, have it your way. I just hope you think twice when he asks you to drink that special Kool-Aid. If Trump is this country's only hope, its only Messiah, if everyone else is part of "the swamp", then we had all better start learning Chinese. I try to be more optimistic in believing there are other conservative leaders and potential presidential candidates so that I don't have to throw by support behind a narcissitic childish ass. I hope I'm right.

If they lock Trump up on some trumped up charge, my next choice will be DeSantis, and hopefully he will run. I would not be excited if Liz Cheney was our nominee. It isn't a matter of being in a cult or drinking KoolAid. What do these people stand for and how do they govern? That is the important question. I don't understand why you need to join a cult to vote for someone you like.

I don't understand why you need to join a cult to vote for someone you like. You don't. It's when a candidate's supporters elevate him to the level of a demigod and see him as the only answer to our problems that things get dicey for me. I'd like to see a ticket of Ron DeSantis and Rand Paul, although I'd be happier if DeSantis had more years of experience. And Liz Cheney has about as much chance of getting nominated as you and I do.

To MDD point, many have lost objectivity when it comes to politics.
If Trump had a scintilla of class, he's still president and we don't have this current shit show. His inability to moderate himself even a little bit turned so many against him. His ardent followers spend so much time trying to prove what a victim he's been.
And it was all so unnecessary.
