Would love to see Servite vs. Los Alamitos in the final. We almost had this final! Darn that TMac.

Thanks. Nice as it is to win one of these, we'll start to see the more meaningful "real" in 39 days.

Tried to follow ya'll via Twitter down in MV..... looks like some fun in the sun for passing leagues.... 90F & Humid as Cuba in Bellflower.... The inaugural BOSCO 8 INVITATIONAL brought out the heavyweights as one would expect, the #1 and #3 teams in the nation, #1 and #2 in the state and CIF Southern Section, the #2 and #3 teams from the CIF San Diego Section in Carlsbad and Mission Hills, rounding out with Oaks Christian, Serra, Corona Centennial and Corona del Mar. It was a privilege for our program to be invited. Thank you SJB for your hospitality. That said just some observations. First and foremost, what a whacky day of competition, outside of Mater Dei, every team seemed capable of beating the other based on previous games, look at these standings after pool play.... check this, Oaks goes 0-3 in pool play then knocks out SJB to make Final Four. Crazy day it was. It was one of those days, CDM loses to Centennial, CDM beats Carlsbad, Carlsbad beats Centennial. This played out in both pools. Everyone not named MD or SJB ends up 1-2. Some observations: I know it's early, but no one is beating Mater Dei, too many studs at too many positions. Looked fit as sh*t. SJB, probably underachieved on the day but even CDM hung with them close till the final plays. Went rotating QB's couldn't get a good read on whom was best. Hauser started. Centennial, good as always, blessed with speed, wasn't impressed with their gamesmanship however. Serra, could never catch up with scheduling to watch, bummed I didn't get to see Murphy throw the ball. Oaks Christian, who the heck is this Tannebaum kid, bazooka for an arm, coulda probably launch one 100 yards. At 6'4 215 lbs yet under the radar. If I'm a scout out there I'm looking up this kids address. San Diego Section teams, Carlsbad looked like a bunch Dolph Lundgrens...., NFL body types, must hit weights hourly. Mission Hills I didn't see what I had expected, they made it the Final Four and got blanked by MD. I was surprised CDM lost to them. CDM played well at times but their defense just did not make any scores, gave away two games by not making that play on defense which is how these games pivot. Tipped balls, INTS, 2 points and the stop are often the difference. I know its PASSING league but everyone scores, its the stops and even more so when you tag on the 2 points. Did I say nobody beats Mater Dei...... Servite?

Funny thing is that I said the same thing about Bosco at Scandrick tourney. I think they were at full strength. MD wasn't, and we were missing our safeties also.
We beat MD, but Bosco went right after our safeties going over the top on consecutive plays. Actually led at one point, but they found the soft spot.
Servite hasn't had both TMac & Burnett the same time yet. TMac was uncoverabke by Bosco in the finals, and he was doubled most of the time. Put Burnett the other side and look out.
All 3 have a shot at beating the other.

Hard to believe that's a first for them. I thought most of the teams were shut down until fall camp.

Well its early but the 7v7 tournament tours have already started, coming here to So Cal in May 2022 "Shock Doctor". The second leg of this tour took place in Houston Texas, and CDM's Sr. WR. Cooper Hoch and Los Alamitos QB Malachi Nelson led their team with the win in the Championship game. Way to go Sunset League in the LoneStar State!

How does CDM have an endless supply of dudes at WR?
Newport had a couple of really good ones also.
Something in the water down there.
