Based on early observations and player movement, it seems Bosco is the top dog this year. Mater Dei losing 2 key players now from the back end has to be concerning. JSerra seems built to run, but is a clear drop-off from the top 2. Servite is pretty young, but don't really know if they're significantly better or worse than OLu or SM. In other words, it looks like there's not much change again in the Trinity beyond the 4-6 teams taking turns at #4 I would pretty much agree with that. JSerra seems to be all-in on the Bosco model, which may keep them in the #3 spot this year. Servite has them at home this (after opening with Bosco and Mater Dei--not sure if that is an advantage or disadvantage), so we'd love to clip their wings at Cerritos College. How's the Sunset League looking? Maybe we need separate threads for the primary leagues that are being followed on this board.

Well we have a TRINITY thread and a HIGH SCHOOL Thread.... so all non Trinity should go there. Next step would be to do a Sunset and South Coast or a Sunset/SouthCoast or even just a PUBLIC High School thread!

I'll move the public related posts into that thread. I think last year we ran with a Sunset / D2 title. Would be D3 this year.

Honestly it all should be in HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL. Only problem there is we will have about a hundred pages in no time. Not sure what the best answer is...Maybe "HIGH SCHOOL - TRINITY" and just "HIGH SCHOOL" as two seperates. Problem with the leagues is Sunset/D2 was not exactly correct as the Sunset is so many divisions now. Same goes for any league these days with 14 separate divisions. And designating just D2 or 3 leaves out many a good school. Not sure there is a perfect answer!

With due respect to all here, my only frame of reference was the CIF Football Championship game at the Big A in 1966.
Mayer Dei might have fared better had they not had to face Anaheim.
🤷🏻♂️

Dave, your frame of reference is a little off. That was a semifinal game.

SK, one answer would be two threads:
Trinity League Other Leagues
I suspect there would be a roughly equal number of posts in each thread.

I'm pretty sure I was at that game as a little kid. It was either MD vs Anaheim or MD vs Servite but I think it was Anaheim. Who wound up winning?.......................Luca

Anaheim, 12-7, and still the biggest high school football crowd in county history. Then the Colonists got slaughtered against El Rancho the following week in the championship game.

And came back the following year to blow through Long Beach Wilson, EL RANCHO, and Santa Barbara, to snuff out Santa Ana in the rematch of the century to take it all. Santa was the only L that regular season, beating us 28-0 and most expected the 4A Championship game to go the same way...

I don’t recall if he played in that first SA game, but the worry was that he wouldn’t be sufficiently recovered for the championship playoffs.

Story in the O.C. Catholic newspaper on new names to know in the Trinity League, including projected starting QB's General Booty, Colt Fulton, and Noah Fifita.
So has JSerra pretty much abandoned the idea of developing their own quarterbacks?
