Those 3 points will evaporate within 5 plays of CDM first possession.
CDM would beat them by 60 if the clock wouldn't be running by halftime.

With all due respect Credo, it's funny that you refer to a school like Mater Dei as the Mercenaries, in light of the fact that Servite has had more mercenaries on its football team in each of the last six years. Take it easy, I picked your mercenaries to beat Bosco's mercenaries. Negro is the Darth Vader of HSFB in my book, so I hope you guys hand them their first home loss since Servite did so in 2011. Transfers does not equal mercenaries. All those 4-star sophomores at both schools are mercenaries in my book, even if they enrolled as freshman.

Well, now I'm really confused. So the state of being a mercenary is not determined by whether or not you're a transfer, or what year you transferred, but by how many stars are next to your name? If a kid enrolls as a freshman, but he has four stars by his sophomore year (which I don't think is possible from the current rating systems), he's a mercenary? But if he has three or fewer stars he isn't? I've been debating this point for a long time, and it would be embarrassing to find out I've had my definitions all screwed up.

So how many stars did Noah and the rest have when they joined the buckeye exodus from Los Al to The Black Hole? That move included 5 of our coaches as well. I'm guessing rather than being called mercenaries joining your team, it would be called... a pilgrimage? Boy if this ain't the black calling the kettle pot.

Now that the dust has settled back to your regular programming..... "STUDENT SECTION of the WEEK by OC Varsity. I'm sure you have all seen it and I think it's a great acknowledgement for the students of our OC High Schools. And we all know high school football right about now can use this spirit and support from students, community and fans. This week's "Battle of the Bay" provided CDM the platform and they took the stage.... CDM Kings Krew !! OCVarsity Student Sections: Corona del Mar Kings Crew is the Week 9 champion www.ocregister.com/2019/10/28/ocvarsity-student-sections-corona-del-mar-kings-crew-is-the-week-9-champion/?utm_campaign=socialflow&utm_source=twitter.com&utm_content=tw-ocvarsity&utm_medium=social
It was a week filled with rivalry games and games with playoff implications, and the Orange County student sections took it to the max this past Friday. Some student sections, like the Tesoro Titan Army, rocked it so well that in any other week, they would have been our student section of the week, but the Titan Army missed out on being one of the five finalists. This week was a “battle,” and the winner was a team from the Battle of the Bay. That’s right, the Corona del Mar Kings Crew is the OCVarsity Student Section of the Week. They showed to support for the Sea Kings in their game against Newport Harbor in the Battle of the Bay a rivalry. Summer is over, but the Kings Crew still brought lots of beach balls to the game, including one with my face on it. My poor face! ~ Manny Alvarez OCV
And credit due to Newport Harbor with their home field advantage, and yes "We Run This Town T'Shirts"....., this is what high school (yes public!) football looks like...!

With much respect to CDM's defense this year, led by Junior safety Tommy Griffin whom like little brother Ethan to Chase Garbers was a CDM ball boy! High School Football Player of the Week: Tommy Griffin is Corona del Mar royaltywww.latimes.com/socal/daily-pilot/sports/story/2019-11-07/high-school-football-player-of-the-week-tommy-griffin-is-corona-del-mar-royalty

By SCOTT FRENCHSPECIAL CONTRIBUTOR NOV. 7, 2019 8:38 PM Tommy Griffin is something like Corona del Mar High royalty, and he’s been a most regal figure in the Sea Kings’ secondary this year as they seek to match the achievements of that great 2013 football team that won CIF Southern Section Southern Division and CIF State Division III Bowl Game titles behind his older brother. Griffin, a junior free safety, quarterbacks the CdM defense, which has surrendered just 123 points through 10 games — astounding numbers in the modern prep game — and held seven foes to two touchdowns or less while romping to a 10-0 mark, the Sunset League championship, and the top seed in the Division 3 playoffs. His imprint for the Sea Kings rivals those of quarterback Ethan Garbers and receiver John Humphreys, their big-name, Pac-12 Conference-bound superstars. “I will say with all due respect to the other guys in the Sunset League. There’s not a better safety in the Sunset League, period,” said head coach Dan O’Shea, whose team takes on Corona Santiago (3-7) in the first round Friday at Newport Harbor High at 7 p.m. “He is without a doubt an All-[Orange] County guy. He is that quality as a hitter, as a pass defender, and as a leader with the skill set to set [our defense].” Opponents don’t want to deal with Griffin, so they throw away from him. But he made Los Alamitos pay in last week’s 48-14 triumph, picking off two passes — the first he returned to the Griffins 13, leading to a quick score that put the game out of reach in the first half — to lead another dominant CdM display.

I remember when Newport Harbor and CDM would sell out OCC. To bad CDM was ban for life from the OCC football stadium.
